@fmf saidFaith is something we trust without being able to prove; it is a matter of fidelity. Having faith dispelled would be learning something we thought true wasn't, or thinking something that was untrue was.
"Faith" does not consist of objective "truths".

@fmf saidIf I were picking anything to prove in this thread you would have a point. I have been resisting just that since the only thing I am concerned about here is truth and happiness not defined by me.
Referring to articles of one's own subjective faith or belief as "truth" as if they are objective - when talking to others - is a self-centred perspective.
Let everyone who considers whatever those are in their own lives ponder what they think! I am not in this thread wanting to tell them what to believe about for any specific topic, I don’t know how many times I have to tell you that!
@kellyjay saidThey have no interest in the topic. Any casual observer can see they are only here to muck up this thread because it was you who started it.

Hopefully they will give up, jump back into their little clown car and go away. But as my dad used to say, "If wishes were horses beggars would ride".. so I'm not holding my breath waiting for that to happen.
I'm filing this observation under the heading "unhappy truths".

@kilroy70 saidI have been debating the concepts of "truth", "objectivity" and "faith" ~ as well as the purpose/meaning of life [one's "quest", so to speak] with KellyJay for over a decade. The topic is a perennial one. You are mistaken if you think I have "no interest" in it.
They have no interest in the topic.

@fmf saidAnd you are mistaken if you think I need you to explain what I can clearly see for myself. Your so called "interest in the topic" is secondary at best. It primarily serves as a springboard for launching attacks and puffing yourself up.

@kilroy70 saidCall it how you want to, by all means. I always do - and I have done so on this thread - as has KellyJay. But you are misreading the situation if you think I "have no interest in the topic".

@fmf saidI've seen your "interest" in other topics on other threads. And I've seen how your buddy delights in pushing buttons to get a reaction that gets someone banned.

You two make the 3 stooges look like a class act.
