Matthew 7
3 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to
destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is
hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

why would Jesus say, “I never knew you, depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”
Just believing isn’t enough, these had a mixture of both works and beliefs, but Jesus
denied knowing them.
It's really simple. Jesus gives the answer as to "why". Jesus plainly states that those whom he "never knew" and commands to "depart from [Him]" are "workers of lawlessness". That is, those who continue to sin.
The point of Matthew 7:21-23 is to explain that for those who continue to sin, He does not consider even their ostensibly "mighty works" to be "good fruit". He does not consider those who continue to sin as "[doing] the will of [His] Father who is in heaven".
Begging the questions what is the narrow way, and how is it found?
The "narrow way" is in actually ""[doing] the will of [His] Father who is in heaven". This is, no longer continuing to sin and producing what Jesus considers to be "good fruit". The "narrow way" is found in the words He spoke while He preached His gospel during His ministry.

repentant of sin? Without a doubt those that claim to know the Lord, but are not repenting
of their sins have really not turned to the Lord. We were not saved from sin to continue
therein.

knowing Jesus, having the Spirit of the Lord to do the works He has for us, following the
Spirit of God in our lives. This will produce good fruit, our human efforts alone without God
cannot do this, it requires God in us.

repentant of sin?
This is the wrong way round. Only those who no longer continue sin have truly "come to the Lord". Only those who no longer continue to sin have truly repented,
"A good tree cannot bear bad fruit...Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. ".

Yes I undid all of my blocks and ignores, hopefully I don’t regret it.
Hope you stay in the forum btw. 🙂

After these kinds of discussions with Christians like KJ how can you have respect for these people who cannot read and and understand simple English.
My guess is that they are actually understanding what Jesus is saying. The problem seems to be that they are hell bent on promoting their church doctrine even to the point of twisting and misquoting Jesus Christ.
God hate liars and deceivers.

Spirit leading in our lives, that is the result of our conversion.

Jesus said He is the way, not what we do, its who He is. We will do His will as we follow His
Spirit leading in our lives, that is the result of our conversion.
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
(Matthew 5:3-9 KJV)
And
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
(Matthew 5:48 KJV)
Its not what we do??? Read it again. You call yourself a sheep of Christ? Yet you continue to deny the truth of the doctrine of Christ with your words ... Shame on you.

You are not understanding the words of Christ?
You need to fix that because your doctrine is nonsense.
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

There are two ways one can take this verse.
1.) Without God's empowering grace man can become perfect.
2.) With God's empowering grace man can become perfect.
This passage should be taken in the second attitude. This would he the whole tone of the New Testament.
The demand of God can only be met by the supply of God.
And we are to cooperate with the flowing in of the supply of God.
"For I know that for me this will turn out to salvation through your petition and the bountiful SUPPLY of the Spirit of Jesus Christ." (Phil. 1:19)
To take full advantage of the Father's life we must take advantage of the "BOUNTIFUL SUPPLY" of the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
"I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me." (Phil 4:13)
For a clear conscience that one is walking up to perfection as far as he is enlightened he must avail himself of the empowering of Christ living in him. We cannot live it apart from Christ.
"For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Phil. 1:21)
This living in perfection can only be as to LIVE is to enjoy Jesus Christ moment by moment. To live is continual fellowship with Christ the indwelling life giving Spirit."
"the last Adam became a life giving Spirit" (1 Cor. 15:45)
Without the continual GIVING of divine life to the various parts of our being there can be no living up to the highest level of morality.
" I am crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
I do not nullify the grace of God." (Gal. 2:20)
The key to living this highest level of morality in Matthew is not nullifying the indwelling grace of God.
Brother Paul pioneered. He among others showed us the way to take full advantage of the Father's nature. It is in being enabled, empowered and supplied by the grace which is in the Spirit of Jesus Christ.
We shall be sons as the begetting Father has desired. We will be sooner or latter. Why not sooner rather than latter like the overcoming apostles.
"That the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the [mingled] spirit." (Rom. 8:4)
Originally posted by @romans1009This is a two part question.
What do you think John 3:15 means? If one has eternal life and loses it, was it eternal in the first place?
The Romans’ verses are saying nothing separates us from Christ’s love.
You seem to think the Bible should be written like a kindergarten picture book. And even then, you’d probably argue over what “See Spot run” meant.
It doesn’t say where ...[text shortened]... om the ankles up, it may look like he’s running, when it’s really the skateboard propelling him.
It does not mean all of those who believe in Jesus at some point in their life are saved . This would the the OSAS fallacy.
The second part would be would be what does it mean to believe.
John 14
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
John 15
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love
This is what Jesus says what one must do to believe. One must keep God's commands not simply believe it is true. Satan believe Jesus is the son of God.
