Please take note of this Dive. If Suzianne is indeed delusional, FMF thinks you share the same delusion.
Faith that such beings as angels exist and telling a story about meeting them and communicating with them are two quite different levels of delusion, I'd say.

I didn't dodge it. If he believes that angels are real, then I think it is a delusion.
Did I miss you telling Dive this when he said he believed in angels? (In the other current thread).

Either way, from my perspective, if he believes that angels are real or he believes he has interacted with them - both - are delusional beliefs.
I wonder how Dive will respond to this revelation...

Has divegeester claimed to have met angels? I don't think he has. How does he "share the same delusion" with Suzianne? Aren't the two delusions different in substance?

But I am in a discourse with you - not a theist - and you, like me, believe that angels don't exist.
Theists are reading these exchanges, where you are referring to them as delusional.

But if Dive (believing as he does that angels exist) went on to have, what he believed was an angelical encounter, should he refrain from telling you in fear of being labelled delusional?

divesgeester is a close friend and has been one for well over a decade. We have spent hundreds and hundreds of hours talking about faith - him with his believer's perspective, and me with my ex-believer's perspective. Do you think I should "have his back" by saying things to you that I do not believe to be true?

No, he shouldn't refrain.

But you would, for consistencies sake, call him delusional?

Yes. But, when I am in a discussion with a theist about their religious beliefs, I will not describe them as "fairy tales" or "delusions" because it serves no good purpose. If, however, they say that they met Jesus on the street and they talked to each other, the word delusion will become appropriate.

Why do you keep asking this question over and over again? I've already said yes several times.

Do you have close friendships that could be sunk by different perspectives like those he and I have?

You never use repetition yourself of course...
