@sonship saidThat church nonsense which you promote is not what Jesus preached at all. The keeping of the commandments of Jesus Christ is what gives eternal life. You are misinterpreting, manipulating and twisting the teachings of Paul to arrive at a false doctrine of dead faith. And churches do this so that they can fill their churches. More people mean more money. IF you tell the congregation that they have to keep the commandments of Christ, many will leave.
Because you, Rajk999, are against the life of God coming into men and growing in men you will argue that to be born anew is VERSES obeying God.
False doctrines and stage drama and fake promises of eternal life = more money
Truth of Christ, simply told, doing good works, then eternal life = less money
Your church is a money making business promoting fake promises. Jesus said that his commandments is eternal life
For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. (John 12:49-50 KJV)
God told Jesus what to preach
Jesus preach Gods commandments
These commandments from God is life everlasting.
You continually condemn these commandments.
@sonship saidDescribing the teachings of Christ
@Rajk999You continually condemn these commandments.
If I "continually condemn these commandments" where is your ONE example of me doing so?
as works salvation,
as legalistic,
as burdensome
as Pharisaical
are words of condemnation.
They are not words of acceptance.
You have rejected and condemned Christ.
God told Jesus what to preach
Jesus preach Gods commandments
These commandments from God is life everlasting.
You continually condemn these commandments.
Jesus instructed His disciples to teach to all the world and to disciple all the nations
Jesus after His resurrection instructed them to be witnesses of Himself. That means that He is raised and alive.
" . . . you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses . . . and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
You seem to teach that it really doesn't matter if Jesus rose or not.
If you just go out and do good things quite apart from Jesus Christ you justify yourself for eternal life.
But to review Paul's pattern of a witness, it was to have Christ revealed IN him.
"But when it pleased God, who set me apart from my mother's womb and called me through His grace,
To reveal His Son in me that I might announce Him as the gospel among the Gentiles, ..." (Gal. 1:15,16a)
Paul did not just say "Go do what Jesus commanded".
He allowed Christ to me magnified in his body.
All he endured he did so through the power of Christ living in him.
Paul LIVED Christ as the main element of his witnessing for Christ.
"According to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I will be put to shame but with all boldness, as always, even now Christ will be magnified in my body whether through life or through death." (Phil. 1:20)
Paul also never spoke of doing the commandments of the Old Testament as a means to obtain life. He said no law was given that could give eternal life. The fallen man made this impossible.
"Is the law against the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given which was able to give life, righteousness would have indeed been of law." (Gal. 3:21)
Paul pioneered to show how not to nullify the grace of God. And allowed the living and indwelling Spirit of Christ to fill up his daily living with living Christ by faith.
He believed Christ could be everything in him to please God and live to God.
Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38 all tell us that the just shall have life and live by faith.
"Lord Jesus, You are in me to be everything I need to live to God. You, Lord Jesus become my mind, my will, my emotion, my memory, my consecration, my faithfulness. In fact it is no longer I that live. It is You Lord Jesus that live in me."
By faith we let each and every chamber of our Christ be for His moving IN and settling down and living a blended life with us.
"That Christ would make His home in your hearts through faith." (Eph. 3:17)
Paul said if anyone preached another Jesus or another gospel, let him be accursed.
As we have said before, now also i say again, If anyone announces to you a gospel beyond that which you have received, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:9)[/b]
So don't become accursed. Believe and preach the resurrected Christ able to come and live in men empowering them with His grace to live Christ.
@sonship saidThe wise man listens to Jesus Christ. and the Apostles
Paul also never spoke of doing the commandments of the Old Testament as a means to obtain life. He said no law was given that could give eternal life. The fallen man made this impossible.
Jesus said
.. Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Matthew 19:16-19 KJV)
Paul said:
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21 KJV)
The fool listens to men and promote dead faith.
@sonship saidThe Jews in the time of Paul, were claiming that a man must be circumcised otherwise he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. This is similar to Christians claiming that a man must profess faith in Christ before he can enter the Kingdom of God. There is no such statement in the bible. That doctrine is a product of the church. Paul said the only thing that matters is the keeping of the commandments:
@Rajk999God told Jesus what to preach
Jesus preach Gods commandments
These commandments from God is life everlasting.
You continually condemn these commandments.
Jesus instructed His disciples to teach to all the world and to disciple all the nations
Jesus after His resurrection instructed them to be witnesses of Himself. That means ...[text shortened]... ven now Christ will be magnified in my body whether through life or through death." (Phil. 1:20)[/b]
Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God. (1 Corinthians 7:19 KJV)
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. (Revelation 22:14 KJV)[/b]
Only those that keep the commandments get the eat from the tree of life ie given eternal life. Your dead faith doctrine will lead to your damnation.
@philokalia saidThat's just silly. Not to derail you from your Orthodox course, but what about all the other sentient beings in the Cosmos? What about the illiterate of Earth? What of the Spider Crystals of Arcturus, who have no books, nor strip-malls, nor fast-food joints?
There's no knowing Christ without the Bible; there is also no approaching Christ without approaching through the Church, though surely those who are prevented from Church membership are not cut off from Christ. Christ will work with them how He can.
J. B. Phillips got there first, but I dare say your conception of God is too small. 😉
