We have some Kiwi's playing with us this year ,both from Auckland districts ,pretty tough boys ,and they are both small
One of the Waikato NPC Squad guys by the shop today.. he reckons the ab's are just about to click and we'll see them go up another notch. He said Nonu may make the final cup squad but isn't in line for a first team line up as Isaia Toeava and Conrad Smith are first choice 5/8ths Mauger may have done his beans!! I'm actually excited about this game...can't wait.. just have to cross the road to the pub tomorrow and park my ars on the sofa in lounge bar...

Great press praise for games from Keith Robinson .. Good Waikato man... and Brendan Leonard our local lad from down the road..he's gonna be a star.
How was Daniel Carter in the game they say his sparkle is starting to shine.

Its not that he is a cheat ,its just that the refs are gutless.
And to think they are installing a Welsh novice to officiate the biggest test match since 2003 Semi Final between these two great teams .
Lets just hope the ref is consistent both ways.

Hansen lambasted this bad mouthing of refs about McCaw and says McCaw has made an art of hitting hard knocking the man down stealing the ball and gets to his feet so fast its almost an optical illusion.
Refs have studied videos of McCaw and are more than aware of his and others traits. It was only a few months ago we did the grand slam tour and had no problem with Northern Refs either.
Its been said that McCaw does have one very rare referee endearing trait.. he's a gent to ref and doesn't tell the ref how to ref the game... (Gregan is very good at it too) If you think about it ...that could be a psychological influence here.
So it appears the only ones having a problem with Ritchie is those who lose against him. The Aussies have him sussed now and I'm sure SA will work him out.
Anyway::: Looking forward to Sat's big big game.. Jake White has the game in a nutshell.. He says the key is positional play and defence. The Aussies know that they can break the abs line given opportunity so need to close down the abs anywhere near there own 22.
The ABs are getting close to form and getting a combination together.. It's going to be a cracker I can't wait to hear the starting line up and hope Leonard and Robinson get a start again.

Team is out with only three changes.
Leonard is on the bench with Byron Kelleher starting.
Robinson stays at lock with Jack.
Oliver starts at Hooker with Mealamu on the bench.
Noted: Mauger is back on the bench with Mcalister and Toeava in centres.
I find Kelleher a waste of space. He worries me. Leonard will have lots of work to do in the second half. Glad Mauger is not starting.
If we get a good start Mauger will be a good addition to the defence in the second half.. but Leonard should have started to help get that start.
Prediction time again guys..

big trouble in aussie camp though with huxley out ,they might rush in latham who is world class but is lacking in match fitness as well as some confidence.

A well earned win by the AB'S ,bit more hunger to win ,although it developed into a penalty shootout.
Dan Carter kicked brilliantly.
The better team won on the day.
On the other hand im not sure the AB try was coclusive you could not see the ball hit the tryline.
The high tackle against Sterling Mortlock on Doug Hewit was a complete joke,the touchjudge needs glasses if he thought that was high .
Oh well bring on the world cup.
