If you deny the importance of Mary, then you are a
heretic. Her actions are models for behavior, and
she was venerated, like the Disciples, since the
beginning of Christianity.
However, if a person prays to Mary, that person is are
a heretic. I am an organist in a Roman Catholic Church.
I assure you, they do not 'praise Mary.'
