Why does there exist a god who loves suffering just so that he can be 'worshiped'?
Has the notion of a "sick killer" never crossed your mind when considerting what kind of a God wants "worship -- even above aid to the suffering masses of his creation"?

Hell. I must be defective. Not a very good toy. I just don't give a shit if I die. That seems to be what all my loved people have done. It seems to be what all of our far flung ancestors have done. Just don't seem right to suppose that by kissin' the ass of some golden god, I can do better than people who are ten times my worth.

The love I now give every day? I am a poor man. I earn a good lot of money but have CHOSEN to be poor. I give it all away.

I do that not for god. I do it for those who need it. I have plenty.
Go out into a september night alone. In the mountains of Wyoming. At about ten degrees F. One gets a real appreciation of god. Then one has to push on for the light. For the damned sun to come over the mountain to save your freezin' ass. That is at about 5:42 am in the mountains of wyoming in september. If you have been smart enough to climb to the highest east facin' ridge/mountain you can see.
You set alone and shiver and run in mindless little circles, knowing how close you came to death. You cover up in your own arms and you speak to god. You thank him and you try to forget why you are so crazy as to do this. Alone. In the dark in freezing mountains that have killed many who are better than you.
But you do it. Don't you? Just to know god? You want to know him, so you give yourself over to him. Don't you?
