None of those stop transmission; they merely decrease it marginally. Unless you had it again in the interim, it was quite a while ago when you had covid; and being boosted also a while ago is again only a marginal decrease in your likelihood of spreading covid.

So your "minimum level of decency would require one to try to prevent spreading a deadly, contagious disease" is som ...[text shortened]... ea if I had cold symptoms in 2020.

Ergo, we're not discussing an issue of principle, just degree.
I'd ask you like I asked Wajoma to list your educational and/or occupational training in communicable diseases to make such claims which are contrary to what the relevant experts have done.

Of course, no action is without some miniscule risk to others; if I cross the street, there's a remote possibility that a car might have to swerve to avoid me and thus hit a tree or a lamppost. But minimizing the risk of spreading a contagious disease which was killing up to 50,000 Americans a month is a different kettle of fish and surely alters the moral calculus to reasonable minds.

I have had occupational training in masks, from reusable respirator through to full BA.

So I know what works against what, and what is required for a mask to work. I worked as a motorcycle dispatch rider in London wearing a bandana all day everyday and your face is just as black with soot under the bandana as outside of it. Soot particles being hundreds even thousands of times larger than the virus.

I started as a welder in the bad old days and seen it progress through from no mask to the stupid rags, the same touted as defence against a deadly virus, quickly abandoned by even those that wanted, of their own volition, to take all a small step to cut down on fumes and dust as they were abandoned by so called 'medical experts' of OHSA. To where we are today with so called 'medical experts' insisting on training on how to wear and handle a mask before even picking up a hand piece. Training which includes a mandatory clean shaven face and how to conduct a reliable fit test, training which states the stupid rags are worthless and probably illegal.

The false sense of confidence the stupid rag gave the self righteous poseurs and how they mishandled the wrong mask for the wrong job did more harm than good.

You're the butt of a gigantic virtue signaling scam.

It's only your perception of what the experts you trust say that differs.

You don't trust Jay Bhattacharya and Vinay Prassad, though they're undeniably experts. I do.

You do as you please and believe as you please. Just don't use your fear to run my life or stop my children from being educated. That's all I ask.

I'm soooooooooo sick of you COVID deniers pretending there's something unique and/or shocking about governments mandating reasonable precautions recommended by public health officials in the midst of an outbreak of a deadly, contagious disease.

You're full of crap to act like some nonexistent "right" to endanger others by reckless, selfish individual decision making was being violated. You don't get to "run your life" by putting others at extreme risk in a sane society.

For your next trick, tell us how stop signs and traffic lights are outrageous infringements of your sacred "right" to "run your life,". That's about as valid as your ranting against public health measures during a pandemic.

So what you are saying is you have absolutely no training and/or education regarding communicable diseases and are completely unqualified to critique the measures public health officials took to try to control the spread of this deadly, contagious disease.

Thanks for sharing.

Good grief.

Sneeze without a mask and see how far the spray goes, sneeze with a mask and see how for thr spray goes.

Do it in front of a mirror.

There you go. That is the effectiveness of the mask. It helps a little in stopping an infected person from spreading the disease.

It’s all they ever said, it’s all it’s ever done.

My God. Look at the international re ...[text shortened]...

Americans! Drag your sacks full of stupidity back to the Alabama swamps and leave humanity alone!
Please don't clump those idiotic balls of redneckian shyt on to all Americans.

There are still plenty of us that believe in science.

And if it weren't for the shameless circus clowns in conservative media and politics screaming "hey Rube!" every minute of every day, there'd be a few less "rubes" for them to exploit.

Appreciate you dragging this one up again, I thought I'd had all the mileage available out of shag doody's ridiculous ijit mask/sneeze example, but it lives again, this is why shag doody should stick to emoticon responses, tis better to remain silent and be thought an ijit than speak up and remove all doubt.

Didn't claim any of that stuff No1 Miss Representor so you're correct. But regarding the topic of this thread, i.e. masks, not only have I had training but I've had years of experience, having worn hundreds of masks of every different type, everything from a T-shirt wrapped around my head to full BA.

The stupid rag was the wrong mask for the job and to make matters worse they were mishandled by virtually everyone. Someone said masks work and that was the attention span of people like yourself and shag doody maxed out. Two words and the brain was peaked out, red lined, no room for anything else, 'wear the stupid rag, wear the stupid rag' over and over, a mantra, everywhere you went, the message, the pictures, the other mask zombies.

Masks work given some very specific criteria in regard to handling and not handling (the worst and most common offence) and mask standards. If these criteria are not met, apart from being useless the mask is doing more harm than good.

A hard truth I know, like being duped by the money changer in the back streets of Manila, you have to face it, you been made an ijit.

The curious thing shag doody is that almost without exception wuflu cases went up after mask mandates were introduced, which fits with my theory: The mask mandates did more harm than good.
