Many of these people did not work an honest job, they inherited the money.
Two questions: What percentage of the population inherited their money and do not work.? It is extremely minimal.
Second question. What in the world does the money of another person have to do with you? I have never gotten a liberal to answer this question. It could be because it is in fact no one’s business?? Do you think it is your business? Does your confusion make you weary?

Yes, it is extremely minimal, as a percentage of the population. That's the problem! A handful of people are acquiring most of the money in the nation without working and then sitting on it, demanding more and more!

When you consider how much money is being inherited, suddenly it's a LOT more than when you consider what percentage of the population is inheriting money. Hmmmm

Why do I care? Because there is only so much money in the economy. If it isn't circulating because rich people are hoarding it there is less for working people to get access to.

You LOVE to ignore my challenges to your BS.
Like the CENTRAL lie of Repubs, People don't want to work, just lay around playing video games till they collect SS.

That has been PROVEN time and time again to be FALSE.

AND repubs know that full well but propagate the same BULLSHYTE story for many decades now.

SO STOP YOUR LYING ABOUT THAT.

People will go to work if a job opens up they can do.

You are a cynical *Enter proper pejorative of your choice*

You make a good point , the stuff of a separate thread, perhaps, Like, if there a $10,000 on an island of 100 people, and they have freedom of exchange, At the end of the month, things have shifted, some have more than others. Then, as lesser earners try to make more money, it is difficult when a few are sitting a lot of it.
This gets heavy into the resulting economy, one exactly different than the USA Today....There would be too little money, chasing an overabundance of goods. So instead of the inflation we have now , it would be where products would sell for less, cause there is no cash to buy them. A good discussion, start a thread!
But what really comes to mind is the movement going on in DC right now, ....to FLOOD our economy with money. THAT is what should be discussed. When this happens, inflation will sky rocket. You can talk about the Biden stock market and economy (which are still owned by Trump, who reduced taxes and the economy roared), but it will mean little when wages, etc are outpaced by HUGE inflation.
This is the reality, I just hate it. Your query about what to do with the money that people are hoarding.....Well, what do you think? I have tried to ask, as recently as today in another thread with a graph-link, how much more do you want to get from the people who have so much money? Some call it fair share. Can you be the final person to tell us just what that is, or, how to get all the hoarded money from its owners?

So tell me why repubs do this central lie ALL THE TIME? People don't want to work, just draw the dole, LIES LIES AND MORE LIES.

It gets disgusting after the first few thousand times that lie gets repeated.

ALL because repubs don't want to pay for ANYTHING except maybe a super strong military, after that, STATES GET TO RULE. Which is BS in itself.

Tax rates similar to those in 1950.

Why are we paying people to collect unemployment when there is work to do? Can't people plant trees before they get an unemployment check?
Meanwhile there are people that want to work and are trying to get a job and cannot get hired. They would plant trees to earn a paycheck.

It is a broken system that nobody seems motivated to fix. How do we fix it?
Put one third of the country to work digging holes, one third filling them in again, and the other third managing them. Full employment, presto. Fixed. Gimme dat ol'-time Protestant work ethic, ...

Capitalists get paid for not working but nobody seems concerned about that

Unemployment insurance is not a gift from the government - it is taken out of every paycheck!
It isn't only the paycheck. Employers have an interest in denying people unemployment. Some of that money must come from them too.

Who said anything about forcing people to work? They have the choice to not work and give up their unemployment check. Same as the choice to not get vaccinated and lose their paycheck.

I never said work camps.
People are not qualified to plant trees? I never suggested skilled work. I didn't even suggest other work options would not be available. They could paint over ...[text shortened]... at least some work to earn an unemployment check. I am not even suggesting it has to be many hours.
"Who said anything about forcing people to work? They have the choice to not work and give up their unemployment check"
That's forcing people to work, dipsht. The threat of starvation or becoming homeless is just as much a threat as a policeman arresting you

"Same as the choice to not get vaccinated and lose their paycheck."
Not the same. Someone staying at home and collecting unemployment is one way tax money being used exactly as it is supposed to. A better analogy is someone playing with a forkflift and endangering their co-workers.

"I never said work camps."
Because you never think your ideas through

"People are not qualified to plant trees? I never suggested skilled work"
Yep, you suggested using people for cheap labour.

"cook food for the homeless"
Sure, let's have a non-cook do some cooking. What can go wrong.

"Some women might prefer to provide day care for women that do work a full time job."
Yes, a great idea. If I had a kid i would LOVE having a random person with no experience in child care look after my kid. As we well know, child care is so easy everyone can do it.

"All I am suggesting is that people do at least some work to earn an unemployment check. I am not even suggesting it has to be many hours."
So what you really have a problem with is the thought those people on unemployment just sit around. It's not exactly like something needs doing, you just hate that while you go to the job you hate, those people are using unemployment benefits (as is their right) to look for a better job. Or even to do nothing.

Some of you are ignorant. If you weren't ignorant, many of you would actually be some of us. Most right wingers are just drones thinking what they are told to think.

Someone said Marx is bad, you hate marx. Someone said wealth will trickle down, you have been waiting since then with your mouth open like a dumbass.
