@booger saidYou weirdly seem to think that individual teachers "own" the offices that schools assign them.
Hey everyone, feel free to use No1's office as a bathroom.
He seems to think it's ok for other people to give permission.
If the teacher was unhappy that the students were allowed to use her office to pray, she should have complained to administrators, not insulted their religion and tried to stop their prayers because she "believes in Jesus".
@athousandyoung saidIt's a charter high school, so who knows - maybe they assign every teacher an office. Or maybe they have to share them. With a student body of 1800 they only have 98 teachers. https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/florida/districts/broward-county-public-schools/pembroke-pines-charter-high-school-4769
For the one hour of prep time a teacher gets per day my school had a desk in a common room and if you were high status you might have your own classroom. Can you imagine how much space it would take for every teacher to have a personal office? Universities aren’t like elementary schools in that respect.
The teacher still doesn't "own" the room and it can be used for whatever purpose the school decides whenever it decides. IF a teacher has a problem with that, they need to make a complaint to the higher ups, not harass and insult students based on religious intolerance.
@no1marauder saidI cant believe Marauder is falling into this trap
There's nothing "obvious" about that and nothing to support your attempts at mind reading.
@earl-of-trumps saidRude? What has rude got to do with trespass....I looked up def of trespass, rude is not mentioned. Nor is religion, for that matter.
I think the teacher should have that right in her own office but I also think she was rude in how she handled it
so the school administrators had theirs right in this, and they chose to can the teacher.
no big deal here.
@no1marauder saidTrue, I dont know all the facts, and dont intend to look it all up, but in my humble opinion.........just like a judge owns his courtroom*, a teacher owns her classroom, a principal owns her principal's office.
You weirdly seem to think that individual teachers "own" the offices that schools assign them.

Is this discussion reality??
*. For the uninitiated , 'own' is often used in many vernaculars as being in control of, in this instance, a certain area. There is no ownership of the real estate, no fee simple.
@no1marauder saidHow do you know she doesn't pray in her office?

Seeing Muslims praying their would be sacrilegious.
Her religion stipulates that anyone after Jesus who claims to be a connection to God would be a lie and an insult to God.
Ergo, Mohammed.
You're ok with her being offended but not the Muslims...🙄
@no1marauder saidShe was fired because the school board is liberal weenies.
When right wingers don't like the facts, they just make s*** up.
Show me somewhere, anywhere in the articles that say the students didn't have permission to be where t
I'll wait.
The school is the one who makes office space available for teachers and they can allow it to be used for other purposes if they so decide The fact that the teacher was fired might be a clue that she, not the students, acted improperly.
Marauder, show us somewhere in the articles where they say that the students DID have permission to be where they were. Geez.
@averagejoe1 saidHe can't.

Two other teachers allowed it because they knew she would react.

@booger saidPray, Muslim religion , God, sacrilegious , and Mohammend. What has all that got to do with these creeps dragging rugs into a private office designated for private use?

@averagejoe1 saidThey didn't do it out of malice.

The two other teachers set this up.
@no1marauder saidWhere did you get the idea that admin told the students they could do that?
If the teacher was unhappy that the students were allowed to use her office to pray, she should have complained to administrators
@jj-adams saidI already posted it.

Whether it was other staff or administrators that gave the permission is irrelevant; if the teacher didn't like it, she should have lodged a complaint not harassed the students.

The office is property of the school, not her, and it isn't for "private use" but for whatever use the school decides is appropriate.

@no1marauder saidAll you posted was YOUR claim that someone told them they could use her office.
I already posted it.
