Sealing the battery I don't know, MIGHT be related to battery technology advancing to the point where lead acid batteries don't NEED to have the fluid replaced in the lifetime of the battery. But what do I know, maybe there was an international conference where they discussed how stupid Americans really are and they had to take steps to help them against their own stupidity, because of case after case of battery acid drinkers clogging ER's around the country.
