There is no "airtight" social system ever devised by human beings.

There is simply zero evidence that voter fraud is a serious problem in this country and certainly any "solution" that will disenfranchise millions of eligible voters completely fails any cost/benefit analysis. There is good reason to believe that right wingers support photo ID requirements for voter suppression purposes and not because of any reasoned belief that it stops barely existent voter fraud.
There is significant distrust of the airtightworthiness of some elements of the voting process, I’ve seen both sides of the political spectrum complaint and blaming the other here in this forum and elsewhere in the media.

I think your resistance to any changes or improvements to improving the security of it is quite interesting to observe.

I think I've sufficiently explained my opposition to such measures and find your gutless insinuation that I somehow support voter fraud to be far more insulting than me calling you an idiot for doing it.

Actually your side is the ones whining in this thread.

You have given one reason for one measure and I haven’t disagreed with you on that specifically.

However your ardent wider objection to the tightening of the voter registration and voting process doesn’t really stand up to scrutiny in my opinion and if my questioning you on it gets you all bent out of shape then so be it.

Your post is just another admission of what the data makes clear i.e. that the purpose of such measures is to add another hurdle in the hope that it will discourage turnout among the most disadvantaged and discriminated against.

I couldn't care less what "stands up to your scrutiny" as it is obviously shallow and ignorant.

You still haven't given a single logical reason why millions of US voters should be disenfranchised in the service of the quixotic quest to somehow combat something that barely exists. Nor can you.

I see, so now I’m not just an “idiot” I’m also “shallow” and “ignorant”. Do you get like this in court when you’re defending your (I imagine, pro bono) clients against a prosecutor whom you don’t particularly like?

Nevermind.

I haven’t suggested anyone should be disenfranchised so why would I feel obliged to providing I reason for not doing so?

I think it’s clear what is happening here, is that you are very upset with someone suggesting that voter registrations and voting processes should be a tight as practically possible to ensure there is no fraud and present a demonstrable strategy to the wider electorate that it is so.

You're out and out lying; as the data shows photo ID requirement disenfranchise millions of eligible voters.

Your desperate and dishonest attempt to portray me as a supporter of voting fraud might play well to the MAGA morons here, but even you know it's complete BS.

Are you being deliberately stupid in order to be annoying?

How many times have I said I’m not talking about your pet hate of photo ID.

Good grief.
