Most of the people who have been in the military will tell you to go for it, it'll be good experience. The service will get your head screwed on straight, you'll be light years ahead of the dummies that stay at home and work at a series of crummy jobs while you're going around the world.
The people who are saying "eeeeeeew, the military" are girly-boys who haven't been in the service and don't know what they're talking about.
I'd have never gone to college if I hadn't gone into the Army after high school and gotten GI Bill education benefits. I spent two years in Viet Nam/Thailand, when I came back , I found college a breeze because of the mental discipline the military instills in you.
After college, I went to Air Force OCS, became a navigator. My prior military training made getting through it a breeze while newbs were struggling against a 50% wash-out rate.
DO consider the Air Force or Navy first. While the Army was good for me, it did kind of suck at times. I liked the Air Force a lot, totally different atmosphere.

hello everyone
I was thinking about joining the army, but Im not sure
so Im asking your opinions
Do you think the army life is a good option?
Anyone with an inkling of intelligence wouldn't join up voluntarily.

However, you do have engineers and medics in other branches of government. You don't usually find soldiers in engineering offices.
Originally posted by shavixmirthe fact that someone else becomes richer doesn't mean that that is why you are fighting. it's more of a side-effect. the reason you are fighting is to save your country (and others perhaps) from being enslaved by Nazis.
On a base level joining up to fight nazis seems like the right thing to do.
However, on a deeper level, you're still off being shot at so someone else gets richer.

Originally posted by shavixmirok, so the Nazis have conquered Western Europe and clearly have their eye on the UK, and the reason young men and women have for enlisting is to make someone richer? surely their reason is to defend their country? it's not as if the UK arms manufacturers (i'm assuming thats an example of who you mean by 'they'๐ stage-managed the Nazi ascent to power just to make a buck. that would seem to be attributing too much influence to them, for a start.
No. That's the reason they give to motivate you. The war is about them getting richer.
