Interesting reading.
Very interesting read, although nearly unreadable in it's presentation.

It pretty much reiterates what I already believed from my own experience.

No; the claim that marijuana impairs driving is a positive claim, as is the claim that red wine is good for the heart. Both require proof before they should be accepted.

Does the claim that Asian women are safe drivers need more proof before it's accepted? Until that proof is provided police should arrest Asian women drivers because "everyone knows they can't drive"?

Did I demand the right to drive stoned? No. Did I get arrested for driving stoned? No. Does driving stoned have anything to do with what I wrote? No.

Did I say I thought I'd get the respect of the police? No.

You need to work on your reading comprehension. Maybe smoking a j will help you focus.

Oh, my mistake. You're more of an alcohol drinker. Well, I guess I can understand why you're afraid of stoned drivers, considering you're experienced with alcohol but apparently not marijuana.

Marijuana is not dangerous like alcohol is.

You wanted government studies?

… While cannabinoids were detected in 7 percent of the drivers, the psychoactive agent THC was found in only 4 percent. … The THC-only drivers had a responsibility rate below that of the drugfree drivers. … While the difference was not statistically significant, there was no indication that cannabis by itself was a cause of fatal crashes.

REFERENCE: K. Terhune. 1992. The incidence and role of drugs in fatally injured drivers. Washington, DC: US Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Report No. DOT HS 808 065.

OMIGOD Glendale, Cal. Is Damian's steakhouse still in business? Does it still have the chintzy hawaiian/polynesian island murals and decorations?
I used to go there in the mid-1960's. I'm really old.

I don't hang out in Glendale. Now I have even less reason to. I was driving on Riverside at 3 am with no other traffic around and no businesses were open. I often prefer the streets to the freeway when I have time to kill.

Ahhh. Riverside. In 1985, I was coming back from a chess tourney at UC Riverside, got pulled over on a 4th of July weekend after my last game. (I'd just won against a 2100 player)
The police officer thought I had been drinking because I had just pulled out of the college, despite my protests that I was sober as a judge. Took me in, booked me, the station let me loose at 2 AM after I passed all their breathalyzer tests, didn't bother telling me my car had been impounded. I found that out after hitch-hiking back to where it used to be.
I was living 80 miles away, had to sit up all night in a Denny's before my wife could get to me the next morning. Cost me $150 to get my car back even though I'd done nothing wrong.
Yes, I remember riverside.

Whenever I smoke it's obviously to get stoned. If I'm stoned, I don't drive.

The reason stems logically from the definition of "being stoned".

No, the dealership did. I just wasted a load of time finding his ashtray because he was too stoned to realise he had left a can under his seat, and was too lazy to look for his own damn self. So he deserved it.

Yeah, they really screwed up when they left that cake out in the rain. 😕

Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

I recall the yellow cotton dress
Foaming like a wave
On the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
And the old men playing checkers by the trees

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

[break]

[Macarthur Park lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

There will be another song for me
For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
Someone will bring it
I will drink the wine while it is warm
And never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
You'll still be the one

I will take my life into my hands and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
And my passion flow like rivers through the sky
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
I'll be thinking of you
And wondering why

[extended break]

MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down
Someone left the cake out in the rain
I don't think that I can take it
'Cause it took so long to bake it
And I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
Oh, no
No, no
Oh no!!

Riverside Drive in Glendale, not Riverside the city.

My Dad says the cops are jerks in Glendale (I only told him how they got me for the lack of licence plate lights, not the rest). So now I know - Glendale and Irvine are places to watch out for.
