Each player takes the part of one of 24 medieval kingdoms. It's a turn based game, with a new turn being played once per week. Each player executes all their orders for that turn and u ...[text shortened]... eeing your dirty peasants trampled beneath my charging knights.

i just want to second xanthozes earlier motion to hide RHP players identitys. i think it would add a whole new perspective to the game. we would assuredly talk about the game in the RHP forums, but everyone would have to talk in the third person w/o revealing who they were. it would also allow everyone to start over as far as making friends/enemies.

I don't think that will be possible. As negotiations are conducted via email, most people's names will be made prominant. My email address is rob_wingett@hotmail.com, for example. There's no disguising that. You'll know exactly who it came from.

I think it's far more interesting to know rhp identities when playing. In real life you would stage your coup, wrest power brutally, make alliances (in truth or in treachery). At the same time you would maintain vigilance to crush already well-known threats (or mere sabre-rattling, i.e., Darv's false bravado in sporting contest supremacy) from other acknowledged powers.

I'll have a go.
I've played Diplomacy decades ago as a student, and also a game called Machiavelli, which was a bit more complex.
