@moonbus saidCamilla is the love of his life - he should never have been advised or recommended to marry anyone else. I must admit I have never understood the greatness of Diana but I feel she was sacrificed.
She was the best thing that happened to the British royals for a hundred years. Why on earth Charles dumped her for whatsername, I’ll never understand.
@moonbus saidShe continues to divide opinion. My view of her is that she was indeed the best things that happened to the Royals in many years, and she was also the worst thing.

She had her qualities and virtues for sure, but make no mistake she was a “player”. The astonishingly ridiculous way-over-the-top outpouring of sobbage and angst was way beyond the pale imo, and in retrospect probably one of the first landmark examples of manufactured social outrage as the media whipped the UK into a frenzy of howling anguish.
Entire social psychology dissertations were written 😂
@divegeester saidShe divides my opinion. I am an admiring republican.
She continues to divide opinion.
I think, to her subjects, she is like Marmite.
@moonbus saidWell, yes, but one, if they say "the queen" they're speaking English; two, if you said "de koningin" in Dutch you used to refer to Beatrix; and three, Beatrix is no longer queen, - "de koningin" is now Maxima.
She is and has been a remarkable monarch. It says a lot about her that when people anywhere in the world mention "the queen", it is Elizabeth II, and not any other queen (not, for example, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, or Silvia of Sweden).

Ahh here we go with the televisual extravaganza!
Trooping of the Colour to kick thing off in Horse Guards Parade.
