Nice under promotion in the one game.
Twice I HAD TO underpromote to a Knight with a check in consecutive moves
because he had an unstoppable mate on the other side of the board.
I had three Knigths and got a perpetual.
The Score? Lost a score book with 90 odd games in it played when
I was on top of my game. I still feel very sad when I think about it.
Some were creative works of art. (mostly swindles or traps).
I saw player at Scottish Championship a few weeks back.
We discussed that game - he does not have a score either.

Lee Davis lost in round 7, leaving him on 0.5 / 7.
The results for the Morning Tournament haven't been posted on the website yet.
Edit. Damn, beaten to it!
Well done Lee.
Originally posted by TyrannosauruschexSimon Williams is a very talented player but doesn't (yet) have the solidity or concentration to make it to the top (in my opinion). He gives lesser players too much of a chance. A good example was round 5 against Bristoe. He won his opponent's queen and had him totally busted but started playing very quickly in his opponent's time trouble and very nearly blew it. He was lucky his opponent's time trouble was the decisive factor. About a year ago he did something similar against me; totally winning he just lost concentration and allowed me right back in with a cheapo tactic.
I am looking forward to Gawain Jones Vs Simon Williams tomorrow - that has bloodbath written all over it.
Did anyone see the Mike Surtees vs Jovanka Houska game? It was a mascara. I found it very interesting as I have been playing the Wing Gambit via the French Defence recently in blitz games with some success. (1.e4 e6 2. Nf3 d5 3.e5 c5 4.b4).
I once played Jovanka Houska in a tournament and won in five moves. She was five or six years old at the time. Her big brother regained the family honour in the very next round. He must have been about nine.
Here is Lee Davis' 7th round effort against Adrian Elwin (graded 159)
I think 17. ... Nxb3 was weak, although Black seemed to have a pretty bad position by then anyway. 19. ... a4 seems to be losing and Black could have resigned with a clear conscience after 22.Rad1!
A very nicely played game by White, who remember was on 1/6 before this game.
Originally posted by SmiffyWell, I guess it's his lucky day as he drew again, thus doubling his total score. If keeps doubling his score every round from now on he'll finish on 8/11 and should be amongst the prize winners.
In every game hes played i think hes given a rook away lee davis will be lucky to get another half point in this tournament obviousy his oppenings are not working and i think hes a bit over rated.
