actaully I partly agree.... with "Ra...K"
The more I look at it the more e.p exd looks like a bad Idea....
Personally I STILL like Bd3.....
Bd3 opens up the C-file for the rook...Which means White is practically FORCED to play b3....other wise Rc4 will win the Queen...
The Good thing about this is we will still be able to play g5 2 moves later...
If you guys want to go for a win, play exd3 e.p. because it's the most active. I don't know in who's advantage it is, mainly because white will probably follow up with f6!
If you want to be sure of a draw, play f6. Something like the following would probably occur then: Bd2 Nb3 Bxb3 Bxb3 Bc3, probably going to an endgame with bishops of opposite colours.
I've been looking at this for a while to get a feel for the position.
I haven't analysed anything but this is what I think:
1) We've lost the initiative. Whites bishops may be awful now but I suspect that now d4 has been played and a little space generated they will become an issue.
2) We will do well to get a draw. f6 by white is a definite threat. g6 is the only answer and that will leave g7 very weak.
3) I appreciate I advocated g5 not one move ago but its one thing to weaken yourself while you have a strong initiative but another when you dont. Right now we dont.
4) Our best hope is to simplyfy into an endgame with opp. colour bishops only a pawn down. Technically its drawn.
5) It will be very difficult for white to force the win but we can easily lose the game.
I hope that makes sense to someone.

Good observation, I think it's a fantasy to play exd3 e.p.
As I said earlier, the more realistic is f6 playing for a draw right now, and I can't see any good answer besides moving the bishops back and forth since the center is closed.
exd3 e.p. does NOT help anything. It's not a part of any particular plan. It also gives white more room to operate with inor pieces)
ps: It's important to undertstand white's plan, the next mini-plan.
Otherwise what stop me from using Fritz 8 to stomp CM into the ground or any other program stonger then CM 10000 for that matter? And yes I have Deep Fritz 8 and CM 10000 and Fritz can slaughter CM even on a compture 3 time as slow. I've tried it many times.
To summarize, stop using computer help for our side please. Thank you.

nb3 bxb3 bxb3 Rd4!!
Then what.....the Bishop on b3 can't be defended because our Queen CANNOT control the diagonal...
so...whats the magical continuation that means we get the upper hand??
i'd say we've lost this....
But, If we're not resigning i'd say we should play b6....
A few moves back I really liked Bd3...the problem was - I offered my analysis a little to late - so, it hardly got considered, a wave of Qd5's won by a overwhelming majority.....(i wonder if its just people conforming to the consensus rather than thinking individually?)
Just like this move.....a wave of e.p's storm the place - not letting anything else even stand a chance.....the problem with that is, if you look a little deep its actually a bad(ish) move.....
I wonder how many people actually analysed the position before voting....
this voting system really doesn't seem to work as it is.....too many good moves have been swept under the carpet....
but anyway, I suppose I should stop complaining if I am unwilling to provide solutions....

I agreed with Bd3, and I thought it was best, but on seeing Qd5 was going to win, i voted for g5, to try and stop Qd5 (I believe I was the only person who said that white would answer d4, which Bd3 would have stopped). In addition to this, I also suggested capturing en passant to be our best option after d4, so I certainly was not just following everyone elses opinion.

Stop throwing your toys out the pram whenever you lose a vote; yes, it's annoying, but get over it!

As to consensus voting 1million lemmings can't be wrong??
I think we need to take a step back and remember that its just a game. Tempers need not be lost.
