It is too bad, but for some reason the admins took the list down a month or so back.
The list included users with more than one user name, 3b was engine and other sorts of chess cheaters, and also 3c Naughty people who harassed other users or everyone.

chess.com have a system in place for banning cheats. I was playing one who was as obvious as some on here. Two days later he was gone. No list of banned players though, you have to look at the player profile to find out what has happened. If a player is banned a note on his profile says quite clearly why.
Originally posted by no1marauderThere is a facility for reporting cheats but I did not do so on this occasion. I intended to do so when i logged in again but he was already gone. There is also supposedly an automated system of some sort. Whether he was reported by someone else, the auto ban system clobbered him or a combination of both I don't know.

EDIT: This player http://www.timeforchess.com/profile/playerprofile.php?uid=306509, who was banned for cheating here, is playing on chess.com and has a similar rating to what he had on RHP. He's even had the chutzpah to post in threads there discussing cheaters (without supplying his "expert" knowledge, of course).

Originally posted by no1marauderih8sens has not been banned on chess.com as far as I know. I don't think he is using an engine over there though. If he is it is crap, I have a 3-0 record against him.
????? His chess.com profile doesn't say anything about him being banned and he logged on today there. http://www.chess.com/members/view/ih8sens

The two rating pools are not calibrated against each other and chess.com uses a different rating system to the standard Elo system used on RHP.

Originally posted by eldragonflyThis statement is not necessarily true. Ih8sens was banned for violating the TOS section 3(b). This does not mean 100% engine abuse. He could easily have been banned for having a 3rd party assistance in his games.

If I remember correctly, he was waxing lyrical in the fora for a while before his banning about how the "Traxler is sound" and "if you play the Traxler, you will lose". He claimed to use engine analysis off line to build a huge database of lines and variations - out of book. Now, he claimed to have never used an engine during play. But, if he used this database in his during a game then this would constitute 3rd party assistance without referring to an engine during play. Perhaps....
Still, whatever the reason for his banning, you cannot assume that because a user is banned for 3(b) it automatically means engine use.
