Anand decided not to take risk. Taking into account his result advantage it`s understandable.

upd. White seems to have plan with moving king to d4 - chance to fight for win, but it could be risky. Probably Anand is considering this option.
I am wondering is it possible to move kingside and play h4 to make breakthrough?

edit: with spare tempo in e-pawn

Black doesn't have to do anything when the pawn reaches h4 because if white ever plays hxg5, then ...g6 by black closes the position entirely, so it's a dead drawn endgame.

Where are you Korch? Atleast I was waiting for your analysis during the game :-). I thought Karmnik had a slight advantage.

I'm no Korch, but as far as I can see it, Kramnik already has realised he has no realistic chances of winning, but only wants to play to the end of the match to try to show he isn't as worse than anand as the current score suggests, which I believe is true (I mean he isn't that much worse).

What is the world coming to when Anand plays 1.d4 in every game ๐Ÿ™

I wish someone would play something other than 1.d4? Its as monotonous as Kranmik-Topalov with 1.d4 in every game :'(

I think in the last two white games by kramnik we might see something else.

Does it matter that much? Any opening can lead to a strategic struggle, or an interesting piece sacrifice, or opposite wing castling with attacking play, etc.

yes, the two same d4 openings which Kramnik lost as white were very tactical and complicated, whereas we saw strategical battles in most of the others.

Of course you are right, but I just like to see some variety.
