Oh yes you are certainly in a better position to understand what I experienced because you read a couple of testimonies but never actually lived there.
Originally posted by FMFYour theory is that he fabricated a cult story, in order to debate you about your previous Christianity?

Is anything...not...about you?

This is what I think is going on here.
I think the closest you have ever been to being part of a cult is when you joined an after school science club. (They bullied you a little right, maybe trashed the rocket you'd made out of polystyrene and lard?). I think you made up the whole cult thing during the heat of a forum thread. (Basically you lied). You then linked to some random site about cults to bolster your deception, and then purely because it fitted the flow of the argument at hand, suddenly presented a family member who had been abused by the cult you had escaped (the cult you now claim gave you pleasant experiences).
I think you had forgotten half the lies you made up and were reliant on no one taking the time to dig up the posts in question. - Genuine abuse is a terrible and traumatic event that can take years of therapy to deal with. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself and should go create yet another account post haste.
I concur.

Originally posted by dj2beckerI find your repeated claim that I have made up the definition 'psychological abuse' bizarre. (Especially as you have stated that psychological abuse in your cult was obvious).
According to your own made up definition of 'psychological abuse', maybe. You have yet to give me a definition that matches my experience.
To limit 'abuse' to the basic dictionary definition is ridiculous. Abuse comes in many forms and psychological abuse is commonly understood and researched.

Lol that after you sounded convinced that I was psychologically abused. You are falling around more than a rag doll. So which is it now? Can't you make up your mind?
Meanwhile, I have addressed your yarn and its ramifications throughout this thread as if it were true in order to get you to wise up about the reality of psychological abuse.
Don't tell me that this differentiation between what I actually believe about your behaviour, and dissecting the ignorance that you were demonstrating, has been going over your head all this time. Surely not?
Originally posted by Ghost of a DukeIf it was obvious it doesn't mean that I was a victim of the abuse. If you are not making up your own definition, reference the one you are using.

Originally posted by dj2beckerAlthough I am qualified, I would not attempt to diagnose you over the internet. - I can however look objectively at the description you gave about your experiences in the cult and give my professional opinion that the 'experiences described' are one of psychological abuse. (The brainwashing described was an abuse of your psychology).
Let me break it down for you: just as I would prefer not to get a medical diagnosis from a nurse even though they have loads of experience in the medical field but they are not a qualified doctor, I would prefer to get a diagnosis from a clinical psychologist who is qualified rather than from you even if you have experience in the field but are not qualified.
