@divegeester saidDuh, no kidding, what a revelation.
No, I suggest that what YOU believe conflicts with what I believe.
We conflict because you are only using your sense of right and wrong to determine what should be genuine and isn't be. I'm looking to scripture that doesn't change simply because my feeling is at odds with it, and even reason cannot back up your views because you have nothing outside of yourself that you are basing all of your views on. If it isn't in you, it doesn't matter.

@kellyjay saidMy opinion, like your opinion, is based on our interpretations of scripture.

@divegeester saidYou simply reject what you don’t like while I accept it all as the Word of God, and can not do that. I have to look at in its context and accept what it says. You think some books are not valid let alone verses that don’t line up with you.

@kellyjay saidYou seem to think that this sweeping “I accept everything that’s in the bible” is somehow a strong position for you.

It is a mindset which has driven you on many occasions to double-down on everything in the bible being literal, such as the multiheaded beast in Revelation being ridden by a literal whore, the talking snake, and other mythical creatures. Hilarious if it wasn’t so silly and a little sad.
To me you appear to be a led-by-the-nose, can’t-think-for-himself, muddled religionist who just says “I accept it all” and thinks that’s a convincing argument. You just look unintelligent, inflexible, dogmatic and archaic. A typical fundamentalist religionist.
This attitude and mindset by you, has caused you to be in the excruciating position you are in in the “Version of Jesus who is a failure” thread. Doubling down, furtive, evasive, trying to twist “few” to really not mean “few”
It’s sad to see a Christian so trapped in their dogma.
@divegeester saidOutside of yourself, your own opinion, give something that promotes your beliefs. If scripture can be cast aside at will as you do, it isn't a solid foundation; if you see no evidence in the universe for God, exactly how did you come to what you believe in? There is nothing but your imagination so far that I can tell; what is left if you cannot look at Biblical text or reality?

I've given you reasons for my belief upon request; you can go after them if you like and try to poke holes in them, which is fine; if I'm wrong about any of it, and you can point it out, I'll be the better for it. You are your only source right now, and you think that is a good thing?
The scriptures have been accepted by many as the Word of God for thousands of years; the way they were put together, by whom, with everyone loving and hating them, they are scrutinized continually as they should be. Our views we pick up in science are not dispelling God; instead, things have flipped where people used to think God was simply an explanation for what we didn't know; now, it is apparent the more we know, only God is a good explanation for it all.
You think for yourself, really, how did you come to the things you believe beyond your imagination on what you think is right?
@kellyjay saidKellyJay you got off the train at the metaphorical station which was most appealing to you. Others stayed on the train.

@divegeester saidYou consider that a good source when you reject large portions of it?
The bible.
@divegeester saidAnd this isn't you trying to upbraid someone for disagreeing with you?

Please. How dare he not accept your fringe ideas!
@divegeester saidAll the scripture about Hell, the book of Revelation? Do you think Genesis is largely fictional? Are there any miracles you actually accept and for those things you don’t how do you differentiate between them?
I don’t “reject large portions of it”
This is yet another strawman by you KellyJay.
@divegeester saidAnd you can't have that, can you?
No, I suggest that what YOU believe conflicts with what I believe.
