@ghost-of-a-duke saidBecause like every other Christian (and every other human being,) I’m not perfect.
Why doesn't the Holy Spirit inside of you guide you to this verse:
'If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also. And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.'
Matthew 5:39-40
Truth is, I react in the flesh far too much to trolling and I really oughta just play chess on here.
@fmf saidI have not lost my faith; the question assumes a great deal; it is nothing but a hypothetical no different than if you died would you be the dead type of question. If I lost my faith, what are we talking about, my faith in my knowledge and understanding of the universe and all that is in it? That isn't Jesus Christ, that isn't Jesus in my life, that is simply a subset of the whole; I can not fully understand or grasp specifics of the universe's history and still have Jesus in my life. I may not be able to prove specifics of the universe state or history and still have Jesus in my life, so what is it that is lost?
Another slab of generic faith speak. I appreciate your personal testimony and I thank you for taking the time to type it out. However, I asked a specific question that goes to the very heart of what we are discussing. If, say, between 2024 and 2028 you gradually lost your faith, would that then apply retrospectively and mean you were not a believer in Christ in 2022?
What do we lose when we say we lost our faith? That is my question, what are we talking about that we can have and then no longer have? We believe in our beliefs; they are not a part of us; they are just how we view the world and look at them. We believe in a world where there are gods or God, and then everything revolves around what we believe in. We see a world without God or gods than the whole world, and everything in it is godless.
Faith isn't a purely religious term; it is being made to look that way in modern society. Our faith walks out what we believe to be true; even if we cannot prove it, only trust it. We loan money on the faith it will be paid back, we walk out on a bridge believing it will not collapse and cause us to fall to our death, we allow doctors to add or subtract body parts believing when they are done, we will be better than before they started.
So if all you are talking about is I once believed this, now I believe that then Jesus Christ is not a part of that discussion, only you.
@rajk999 saidYou are still making things up as you go.
The man is in a relationship with the church. The is nothing in the bible called a relationship with God. There is faith and there is works. The church told the man faith alone and a relationship with God is enough for going to heaven. That is false. This going to heaven business is also false. He lives for the church like the fool described by Christ. The wise man keeps the commandments and get eternal life but the church condemns people who do that.
@pb1022 saidWrong. You grab at every opportunity to boast and talk about yourself. I do not do that, and that is why I refuse to answer certain questions. I stick to the topic and I ignore foolish questions as the bible advised.
I was asked those questions and answered them.
Unlike you, I answer questions that are asked of me.
@kellyjay saidRefusing to respond to the hypothetical means you are trying to sidestep the fact that if your logic applies to me it would spply to you too. You might not be a believer in Christ now in 2022 because you don't know whether you will be a believer in Christ in 10 years from now: this is your logic, not mine.

@fmf saidI think my last post in here will be another question you refuse to answer:
Why does "the Spirit" part of you never apologize for what "the Flesh" part of you does?
Isn’t it a fact your posting in here was so obnoxious and objectionable at one point that you had to apologize to this entire community *and* apologize to this website’s owner?
God only knows how many potentially paying subscribers you and two or three other people on here have driven off this site.

@fmf saidThat question is no different than saying if you died would you be dead. I'm asking you to clarify what is lost when we say we lost our faith, what did you have and what changed, what did you lose. It isn't my fault you are not very clear and specific on this point; the whole POINT is what was there and is now gone.

@kellyjay saidYou sound like those Catholic priests who pick up their crosses and follow the little boys into the washroom ... pervert.
Daily, we should be picking up our crosses and following Jesus Christ, the one from scriptures, not the one you make up as you go.
So far you have not once in 10 yrs, repeated the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ here except these vague nonsense statements that mean nothing except to you deluded church sycophants. So dont talk about the Christ from the scriptures you hypocrite
