It was very real to me at that time. As real as it is to you now. You have called me a liar. What is my lie and who is it you think I am lying to?

Listen, I would love to see him come to Christ! I'm not going to blow smoke
up his bu__ so that he feels good about his choices just because! I think
finding God though Jesus Christ is the best thing anyone could ever do in
this life! I believe it is because of what Jesus did for us that anyone should
be saved! It isn't because we are good people, or walked this way, or that!
It is due to what Jesus did not our actions or inactions that we should come
to God! Jesus deserves the reward of His suffering, He went through all of
that so we can come to God! My comments have not been flippant towards
him or anyone else!

It was real to you at the time, but you know that it wasn't real back then
now correct?

You are now making two untrue claims now, which I believe you are by denying Jesus Christ, and when you said you knew him you were faking it since you left it for the ability to deny Him.
Ex-Christians are liars for not believing in Jesus? That sounds daft.

When I was a Christian, I wasn't faking it. So it's daft to suggest that was a lie.

If I continued to claim, now, that I still accept the claims made about Jesus by Christians, that would be a lie.

Can you explain how "calling someone a fool" will ...[text shortened]... r all eternity in an incinerator while he watches?

How can you rationalise this in your mind?
My extreme beliefs?
You have beliefs and so do I! You must think very highly of yourself to go
on about those that do not line up with you are the extreme ones. If you
don't care about my interpretation of scripture when discussing faith, just
go on to someone else who does not have a clue why they believe what they
do. You I guess believe in something, where you go for your beliefs who
knows! If you want to know where I got calling someone a fool puts you
in danger of Hell suggest you read scripture for yourself.

Matthew 5:22

But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.

It was real to me back then. I was telling truth back then when I self-identified as a Christian. It was the same as you self-identifying as a Christian now. But I am no longer a Christian, as you know. You have claimed several times that you understand that a person's beliefs can change but you keep asking questions as if you have no idea what it actually means for a person's beliefs to change.

We going down this road again ?

😀

Why cannot KJ accept that you was once a Christian. Why is that impossible?

I accept those that are Christians have God in their life by Jesus Christ.
Where you and I part company if I grasp what you believe *I could be
wrong*, you accept everyone who says they are Christian as being
Christian no matter how evil they are! This I find repulsive since the name
of Christ is drug through the mud due to their sins! We agree that those
that do those things will be condemned on judgment day, we just disagree
on today's labels.

I can only presume it has something to do with KellyJay's self-esteem. He's now ratcheted it up a tiny bit by smearing me [albeit incoherently] as a "liar" so I can only assume he feel somehow 'threatened' by an ex-Christian talking openly about no longer believing the stuff that KellyJay believes.

That is certainly one explanation.

The standard definition of a CHristian is one who claims that he is. eg there are 2.18 billion Christians in the world.

Apparently you seem to know who are good and who are not or who has God in their life and who does not. I do not know that.

I was a Christian back then. I am not a Christian now. There is nothing you can do to reach back into my past and change what I saw as being the reality for me. You can even call me a liar, if you want, but it cannot change what I believed to be true back then. Even I cannot reach back into the past and change the facts of my life at that timer, even though I am now an ex-Christian. You can call me a liar if you want but it won't change the fact that what I believe now is different from what I believed back then.

Another explanation may be that KellyJay thinks that one's spiritual beliefs are like having an avatar here at RHP. If I had an avatar of a dog from 2005-2013 and then changed it to a cat at the start of 2014, my avatar would be a cat if you browsed any of my posts from, say, 2009, even though when those posts were made the avatar next to them was a dog. And If I were to say my avatar used to be a dog and not a cat, no doubt KellyJay would give himself permission to call me a liar and say, "If your avatar is a cat now, FMF, then it was never a dog!" 😀

I don't know! Just as you and I don't know who will be standing before
God accepted by Him through Jesus Christ! What I do know is that God
sent Jesus to us, and Jesus laid down His life for us and took it up again!

What I do know is that God gives His Spirit to those that belong to Him and
those that do not have God's Spirit do not belong to God. That said, there
are many who claim to belong to God that do not have God's Spirit and are
not following God. Those may claim the name, but they do not belong to
Him, and as they walk this life in their flesh they never will unless they
come to God as God calls us. Those who clam to be Christian and have not
God's Spirit are not in my opinion Christian.
