No.
The premises and numbers listed are flawed. They also do not take into account the devastation to plant life, and thus food, that would be required for the vast majority of animals then and today. They do not take into account the devastation to insects, and it would be impossible to account for 1) Having all insects on the ark, and 2) An insect exte ...[text shortened]... ally happened is missing something else entirely that the ancient Jews are spiritually saying.
Originally posted by galveston75As I say, the premise is flawed. There is no accounting of the mass plant and insect extinction that would have happened were the entire earth to be covered in water for 40 days. It simply did not happen.

Originally posted by galveston75the problem for those who advocate a non literal interpretation, under the false guise of some spiritual lesson, is, that in denying the teaching of Jesus, they are denying the divine element, and look how they are floundering on a pretence of knowledge and on the basis of what? mere opinion and interpretations of higher critics. If only they would refer to the scriptures, you would think that these things would become apparent. Christians arguing against and denying the teaching of Christ, well well..........

Was the ark big enough to hold the number of animals required?
The total available floor space on the ark would have been over 100,000 square feet, which would be more floor space than in 20 standard-sized basketball courts.

I haven't got time to go through the whole post just yet, but it doesn't fill me with much confidence when the maths in the very first sentence is completely wrong. If you can't get that correct, it doesn't boad well for the rest of 'analysis'.

Do you realise you are contradicting God?
You may be able to convince yourself, but you will never convince me that you know enough of everything to determine that there wasn't a world wide flood.
If God can create the universe with His Word He is more than able to put Noah on an Ark with the animals and flood the world with water.
You and those like you think too small.

god did it. god is mighty. YES he can! well then why are you trying to prove it? why use science to prove a miracle?

If you can't read and comprehend the first sentence how are you going to understand the rest of the post.
I didn't think it was necessary to provide the reference. I still don't.
why are you all doing here? don't you realize you are at a disadvantage? those that think must question everything they say. must support their ideas. must be receptive to better ideas. must research their posts.
do you see them(the "others"😉 doing this? not only that but they really believe god will send them to a fiery pit if they question the flood. they really think that in order to be saved they must never question what they are told by the priests.
how can you debate in such a manner? who gains from all of this? one party tries to teach the other: they give out information that falls on deaf ears and receive nothing in return. how is that fair or productive?

I make the dimensions
137.16m long
22.86m wide
13.716m tall
Giving the vessel a maximum volume of 43,006m3.
Not quite sure how you managed to 462,686.4m3? You've made it 10 times bigger?!

The only difference between the believer and the non-believer is salvation and a willingness to trust and believe God.
Which of course gives us the greater advantage. lol
