So you agree with me
Well, KellyJay, if you have finally come round to the reality of what the messages on this forum actually are ~ if you are no longer suggesting to yourself [and to everyone else] that you are some sort of oracle of objective truths ~ and if you are willing to debate the coherence of the claims you make without going into this dreary sub-routine about how you want to discuss the truth rather than your subjective opinions about the truth, as if that is anything other than a gimmicky piece of rhetoric that you use to sidestep discussion ~ if you agree to all that, then all well and good I say.

We are either offering a correct assessment or not, the fact we offer one isn’t important we all do that, but is what we are saying reflecting reality as it is, or is it just us speaking into the wind?
Whether your subjective opinions are "correct assessments" and whether your opinions are "reflecting reality" are all a matter of opinion, and these contrasting opinions are the lifeblood of a message board like this which is populated by people with diverse beliefs. If you feel you expressing your own perspectives is just "speaking into the wind", so be it. Sometimes I think that is indeed what you do, but not all the time.

You say things like “ultimate truth,” as if there are different kinds of truth. There is truth and everything else.

Is your belief in your own everlasting life after your death a "truth"? Is it a "correct assessment" that "reflects reality"?

Then the topic not the person needs discussed, we can disagree, the fact we can disagree doesn’t on its face mean the truth can not be known.

No, what is the real truth about anything if we were speaking about that we wouldn’t be turning the conversation about ourselves.

When you reduce truths to opinion you are changing the subject.

So what do you want? You want to talk about "the truth" WITHOUT anyone expressing what their beliefs/opinions are about it? Is that what you want?

No, simply that truth has a quality to it that doesn’t vary, something is or isn’t true. We can take something that you say a lot the supernatural is something we can’t know. Am I correctly stating something that you agree with? If so we can look at the statement not you and discuss the validity of it.

The topics not ourselves should be discussed, when we turn the topic to ourselves we change the topic from truth, to opinions. Disagreeing opinions can only be resolved when truth is realized.
