Lee at his best:
'The Lord is not building His church in Christendom, which is composed of the apostate Roman Catholic Church and the Protestant denominations. This...is being fulfilled through the Lord's recovery, in which the building of the genuine church is being accomplished...Roman Catholicism and Protestantism, as well as Judaism, all [have] become an organization of Satan.'
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
Jesus said that the Christians should worship Him in spirit and in truth.
Worship in spirit and in truth is not tainted.
Things have crept into the Christian church which have sidetracked from worship in spirit and in truth. The worst of these things are strongly condemned.
There are two problems in history:
Sins of Athiesm
1.) People without regard for God as the highest authority may do abominable things.
Sins of theistic Religiosity
2.) As people like Sam Harris or Christopher Hitchens point out, to some religious people think that because "God is on their side" - they may ALSO do abominable things.
This cannot be denied by those who argue for theism.
In the name of God some of the worst things have been committed on earth.
Some of the "ISMS" and the "ANITY" has therefore greatly corrupted the worship of God " in spirit and in truth. "
You yourself once recommended A. W. Tozer who on occasion did not mince words about religious corruption.
Hypocritical then of you to endorse A.W. Tozer who spoke frankly and at the same time try to condemned Witness Lee who in turn had his moments of frank speaking about this.
"The unique Creator, God, is triune, signified by the number three. Since the creation is represented before God by four living creatures (Revelation 4:6-9), the number four signifies creatures, especially man. Hence, three plus four means that God is added to the created man, and thus His purpose is being accomplished. The church is not only the creature, but the creature with the Creator as the Triune God dispensed into her. She is the real number seven: the real three, the Triune God, added to the real four, created man. Therefore the number seven denotes completion in God’s move, first in the old creation and then in the new creation, the church."
(The Recovery Version: Footnotes of Revelation)

As anticipated you come with a "I can still needle you sonship" comment.
But answer me this: As an atheist - why do you care one way or the other about the section of quotation you hobbled together above?

@sonship saidYou present a cherry-picked Witness Lee to this forum and have done so for years. This thread has shown the full package of the man who, among other things, has condemned your fellow Christian brothers and sisters to Satan.

Your quote is more of a misrepresentative cherry picking.
And YOU recommended above A.W. Tozer, a Christian teacher who also said some frank things in love towards his Christian brothers and sisters in a famous sermon called - "The Waning Authority of Christ in the Churches".
And you have never probably read one book or message or booklet by the man Witness Lee from the first page through to the last. So you're a hypocrite to complain about "cherry picking" him.
You're too lazy to read one small book through but rely on Internet quotes to sling dirt. There hardly is a soul of note that someone on the Internet somewhere doesn't have rotten things to say about.
And you really didn't answer the question why as an atheist you should care.
That is unless you CARE so very much that I be embarrassed to have been helped by whom the Internet includes some rotten things to say about.
Lastly, Lee did not condemn his Christian brothers and sisters to Satan by speaking a frank word that a divided Christianity falls short of the "one new man" which Paul revealed needed to fulfill God's eternal purpose.
And it is interesting that you as a church opposing ATHEIST shed crocodile tears when a faithful servant of God frankly warns Christians of traditions which are so worldly in nature that they have damaged the church and prevent God from getting through with what He desire in her.
On every account it seems your post is just to remind me .. " Oh sonship, the troll is back to taunt you again. I CAN STILL DO IT !! "
@sonship saidYou seem to have called every single non-believer - and every single follower of Christ who disagrees with you - a "troll" at some point or other. If you only want to talk to Christians and you only want to talk to those who never disagree with you, aren't there other webistes or online communities where you could get that? Have you thought of starting a blog?

Time to humor you for the sake of some others who might be helped.
1.) I concede that the word "troll" is easy to bantor around towards each other in a heated discussion forum. I concede that too casually I may have used it.
2.) I deny that over the years everyone who had a different opinion from me I called a troll.
3.) I think you exaggerate to give the impression to readers that NO ONE ever had a disagreement with sonship (jaywill) and was not called by me a troll.
4.) Yes I have thought about starting a blog. I don't think starting one is mandatory.
5.) I concede that it might be unfair to dismiss someone who you have spent more than a thousand pages arguing with WHOM you feel that further arguing even more is a waste of time, is a troll. If that is what you are implying.
Ie. - "If you do not perpetually go back and forth with me into perpetuity you call me a troll"
Maybe a "nuisance" is not a "troll". But maybe he IS too.
6.) I have made points to you. Once or twice or more made, to make them further at every opportunity I would consider me trolling YOU.
7.) What happens as disagreement in an online Discussion Board can JUST as easily happen with a blog. The contrary opinion-ed person then publishes his or her counterpoint blog and off we go again.
Blogging doesn't guarantee no one who disagrees with you will never eventually respond with a similarly blogged counter argument.
Ghost, I count 588 publications in the list of online books of Witness Lee.
What methodology do you use to determine "the pinnacle" of his work from 588 publications ?
Are you so arrogant to announce ( having perhaps not read ONE publication through ) that you know "the pinnacle" of all his work ?
And what do you mean by "pinnacle" anyway?
@sonship saidCorrection.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
The pinnacle of course of Lee's work:
How have you determined to designate some words "the pinnacle" of someone's work ?
Do you mean "the words that I find most memorable to me" instead?
How do you determine which of Lee's words are "the pinnacle" of his work ?
Pinnacle of his absurdity.
