@fmf saidThis would be a completely different discussion than eternal suffering and its ethics.
What evidence do you have that this punishment - and therefore the threat of it - is real?
@philokalia saidIt was relevant to your hypocrisy and sanctimoniousness.
I don't think it was perhaps relevant to what we are saying here.
@philokalia saidYour punishment does not exist and the ideology attendant thereto, while it might have been internalized by people who have internalized it, does not hold up to scrutiny.
This would be a completely different discussion than eternal suffering and its ethics.
@fmf saidYeah, so do you think we're really missing something juicy there?
It elicited this response from me: 'That's a bit rich coming from you. You enjoyed - and touted as the forum-posting-at-its-best - the thousands of obscene paedophilia-themed posts and sexual slurs against spouses of posters in 2018 - by someone trying to be funny - when it suited your unprincipled partisan purposes.'
Do you think I deleted it to hide some fantastic secret?
I have no idea why it's gone.
@philokalia saidIf you can make a credible and coherent moral case for what is done to humans there and why they would be sent there, I will most likely start to believe your assertions about the existence of "Hell".
If you want to talk about the ethics of hell, you have to talk about hell as if it exists as described by the Christians defending its existence, don't you?
@philokalia saidActually, I am only really talking about one thing: the moral coherence of the things you assert. My position is crystal clear and very straight forward. I am not talking about "a thousand different things". There is no "shell game" here.
Are you literally arguing that you get to turn this discussion into a shell game where I have to cover a thousand different things while you can jump to whatever position is convenient for you in the moment?
@fmf saidPhilokalia seems to have requested to have his post criticising my use of St Penis of Antioch (which was mocking his flowery use of quoting various supposed saints) removed for some reason.

Possibly because he realised his hypocrisy.
@philokalia saidThis is probably the 7th time I have asked you the question in the thread title:
I believe this is the seventh time that you have referred to that someone. ^^
What is the point of eternal suffering?
@philokalia saidNever mind trying to pretend to not understand the difference between “point” and “reason”, you’re just being dishonest, obviously so.
If you mean 'point' as in it is a process moving towards an end, there is no point.
If you mean 'point' as in the reason behind it, then it is people who have consciously rejected God (that also have immortal souls) being separated from the God that they chose to reject, and the fruits of this is what the authors of the Bible call the outer darkness.
What is the point of burning non-Christians alive for eternity?
@philokalia saidDid you request the moderator to remove it?
What post? I haven't deleted any posts that I can think of.
Straight question requiring a straight answer philokalia.

I suspect that you had your own post removed so that you could make this piss-poor defence of FMF calling out your hypocrisy.

@philokalia saidYou are now claiming that you don't remember the content of your own post from yesterday?
Heck, you can let me know if you think you know what I had said there. Because, right now, I really don't know what the content was.

@divegeester saidBingo.
