Originally posted by @fmfBoy, you are persistent in trying to pit believers against each other. Won’t work if I’m one of them because I have no problem with people having an opinion contrary to my own. It’s the name calling, dishonesty and hypocrisy that I object to, Kiddo.
Which other Christians apart from divegeester (or so you alleged) "bring reproach on the name of Christ" with their behaviour on this forum?

Originally posted by @fmfHave you started with your twitching, heavy breathing and panting yet? You get so excited at the start of one of your question-asking marathons, particularly if you’re sliming believers.
Well, I think I display more moderation and integrity than you do in my dealings with other posters and I don't resort to any of the hyper-aggressive flame-speech that you seem to have a liking for, but as you say I am not a Christian, so it's moot.
Anyway, which other Christians apart from divegeester - to your way of thinking - "bring reproach on the name of Christ" with their behaviour on this forum?

Originally posted by @divegeesterYour neediness is what’s hilarious. Actually, if you dialed it down a few notches, it’d be hilarious. Now it’s just sad.
I think you are just annoyed that you got yourself into a pinch yesterday and made yourself look silly by backing away from your big-man rhetoric with excuses about bathroom breaks and taking the rest of the day away from the site. You still won't answer the question even know, even after all your big tough talk about Jesus and the Pharisees. It's hilarious.

@sonship, will you stand with me or with Romans1009 on this issue?
BTW, what sets you apart from an atheist? Do you pray? Do you read the Bible? Go to church? Bible study? Missions work? Fellowship with other believers? Tithe to Christian charities?
None of the above?

Originally posted by @fmfUnfortunately, I realized later that dive’s proclamation leaves unaddressed if he believes Jesus Christ was God in the flesh, was crucified for the sins of the world and was Resurrected.
Here's some plain, honest, humble English, if you ask me:
Thread 176860
Because that’s really what defines a Christian, in my view and the view of numerous prominent Christians and theologians.
I have little doubt that rajk and ToO, who deny Jesus’ deity, would have a problem saying He is their lord.

Originally posted by @ghost-of-a-dukeThat’s tortured logic even for you. I’ll address it later if I get bored enough. Not there right now.
As a neutral observer (ho ho ho) here is such a quote from Romans:
"I think dive is ashamed to believe Jesus was God in the flesh. I think dive is ashamed to believe Jesus was crucified for the sins of mankind.I think dive is ashamed to believe Jesus was Resurrected."
Interestingly (and I use the term very loosely) he immediately goes on to ...[text shortened]... is logic we can extrapolate Romans 'thinks' God exists, but is 'not convinced' that is the case.

Did we forget to tell Becker 3 weeks ago that 'all' his posts were going to be ignored?
The poor fellow seems to think not getting replies equates to him having people on the ropes. Oh dear.

Are you going to respond to the OP whodey?
This is a moment for integrity and principle; either you stand by me or you stand by Romans1009, there is no middle ground.
So far only one Christian has had the balls to even choose. It's hilarious, but also a bit disheartening.
Originally posted by @divegeesterI can understand how you might see it that way. I do write out my thoughts in a forceful way. I'm passionately aggressive about my faith and about the truth of God's Word. I know it well, and when I hear people such as the troll belittle my faith and butcher the scriptures while ignoring what they say I get ramped up.
What’s “merit” got to do with it, it’s how you come across at times.
That's what a debate forum is for. A place to express ones beliefs in an environment that can get testy, but there's no room for hypocrisy and deceit. We see enough of that in real life.
Now might be a good time to apologize to you for saying I didn't think you were a Christian. I got ramped up, but I wasn't angry.

What you call "hyper-aggressive flame-speech" is merely me speaking the truth about what I think, and a clever disguise to cover your own malevolent disgusts against Christians and Christianity as a whole.

It's an exercise in principle, not a vote of confidence, liking or even respect.
Principle, honesty, integrity are whats at stake which is possibly why it has gotten a little fractious.
It’s gotten fractious because the person asking for principles, honesty and integrity displays none of those qualities himself.

You may not think so, but when you say things like "your god figure" you're being as insulting as it gets against the Christian faith. I wager you wouldn't say that to a Hindu or a Muslim to their face in real life.
