I disagree with you wholeheartedly. Now is the time to stand up and contend for the truth not shrink back behind some namby-pamby wishy-washy version of "brotherhood". Most of the atheists have had a negative experience with christianity and that is usually centred around personal or mental abuse of some sort, usually during childhood.
Forcing people ...[text shortened]... and my burden light
Matt 7:9
What father would give his son a stone when he asked for a fish
So?
You spend far too much time being cynical, pessimistic and judgemental about other's motives and means. What you say about me or the church has absolutely no bearing or weight in the grand scheme of things. God has a plan. It's His plan. I take my instructions on how to live this life from God, not you.
"Forcing people to accept Christ..."
Such an idiotic proposition. Where do you come up with this stuff? I think you need to keep your emotions out of the debate, it effects your judgement.

Man is superior to an ant! Well done.
I said not much different. Meaning both are end products
of physical processes - you know; chemicals, energy, dna
... all that stuff. We are not that special.
& wtf is "the cycle of life" ??? You been watching the Lion King?
God says we are. An ant was not created in the image and likeness of God. We are!
Reducing our existence in terms of what we're made of as compared to anything else misses the point. Matter and energy not withstanding we are made with the capacity to know God.
Can't say that about an ant or a tree. All you're doing is making a monkey out of yourself. 😉

Yes, we are coming from two different angles. My long experience as a person who held strong Christian beliefs ~ but more especially my experience of escaping those beliefs' psychological clutches and thinking for myself ~ makes me regard an unsubstantiated belief that there is "much, much more" [i.e. life after death] is a crutch and a symptom of deeper inadeq ...[text shortened]... y, I think religiosity is the human spirit settling for for way less than what it is capable of.
I do not know what you were taught, but I would guess Traditional Christianity, maybe a good Baptist church or similar...
You were taught to be good, obey the rules, do good works to please God.
In other words, clean up the outside but inside, you still had the same old issues of doubt, etc.
The gospel is the "power" of God,
Rom 1:16-17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
NKJV
If you did not see power, such as healing, deliverance, revelation from God, then you were probably taught a watered down brand of Christianity, religiosity, as you say.
But it is NOT the true Gospel of God.
Mark 16:17-18
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
NKJV
Acts 2:43-44
hen fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 4
NKJV
Walking with the Lord should be powerful, exciting, and it should bring great joy. If not, check what you are being taught, what you have believed to be true about God.

Sorry, but I do not believe you.
No one that can hear from God, see miraculous things happen and then turn and not believe what you saw? Insane...

I am saddened and perplexed that you have seen with your own eyes, had God open the eyes of your understanding, to see the love He has for you, and then reject it?
I will stop here on what I think because this is a public forum.
I wish you a long and happy life....🙂

This is a call to all those Christian's here who believe that non-Christians will be tortured for eternity in a burning hell-lake. It's one thing to accept that there is a 2nd death, after all most people have already accepted their 1st death, so the 2nd one, while obviously being a bit of a "damn, those Christians were right after all" moment, is ...[text shortened]... fear ASAP.
What are you doing posting here? You should be out screaming at people!

ALL SONS & DAUGHTERS LYRICS
"All The Poor And Powerless""All Sons & Daughters"
All the poor and powerless
And all the lost and lonely
All the thieves will come confess
And know that You are holy
Will know that You are holy
And all will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out
Hallelujah
And all the hearts that are content
And all who feel unworthy
And all who hurt with nothing left
Will know that You are holy
And all will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out
Hallelujah
[x2]
Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
That He is God
[x5]
We will sing out
Hallelujah
And we will cry out

Shout it
Go on and scream it from the mountains
Go on and tell it to the masses
