Originally posted by BadwaterI hope the game is available on some video site. It was not broadcast in my area despite its importance! What a game! Just finsihed reading about it. Them Duckas are like prehistoric. Those nashie little teeth bit off Wilcat leg clear through! A great win. Whatever they do this year next year they will be a force to be reckoned with indeed! I am so impressed!
AZ lost. 😀
My Ducks are tough.
Andy Staples (I believe that's who wrote the column) commented on that, on having to see the game in Florida on a pirate TV feed. It's really dumb to have arguably the most important game of the weekend unavailable to 1/3 of the country. Not only that, it was a nailbiter at the end, and great TV. Not that many would have been able to view it to know it. 😕
The Gophers beat S Dakota St to qualify for a bowl. hopefuly the Insight Bowl since it's played 10 min away from me.
I root for the Gophers 1st and then the rest of the Big Ten against all other teams. I find that as a common trait among Big Ten fans. I think that that is a unique qaulity; to root for all teams in your conference. Whodey doesn't do this and we might have to disallow hos OSU interest because of it.
Originally posted by BadwaterThat is the kind of game I truly enjoy! I believe I may be able to purchase the game on itunes. I agree that this kind of game is what should be broadcast instead of Florida Vs. FL Int. That game was a joke! Even where I live the Texas games against really bad teams get broadcast only to special cable feeds. I was forced to watch Texas beat up on Kansas inistead of Oregun Vs. Arizona. I hope you were able to enjoy the outcome sa much as I did. I have no dog in that fight yet I root for those teams where I find the coach is a good guy and great example to the kids playing on the team!

Fierce competitors get my attention like Oregon coming back 14 points on Arizona! THat was a hell of a comeback! OSU righting a sinking ship is also a good example of why a team gets national attention. I love your Gophers simply because they seem to be perennial underdogs who pull off big upsets!

Originally posted by badmoonBUt you are wrong. I do root for other Big Ten schools.....except for perhaps that team up north. Don't get me wrong, I have in past years rooted for that team up north in bowl games, that is until their current coach was hired. Simply put, I just don't like him. To begin with, I don't like the way he left WVU. He began to leave in a year that he should have gone undefeated and would have faced my Buckeyes in a NCG in the Sugar bowl. Instead, he was to preoccupied with going to Meat Chicken and subsequently lost to Pitt the last game of the year. He could have been a national champion, but now look at him. He then goes to a BCS bowl to face Okilahoma after losing to Pitt, but leaves the team before getting ready to face them all so he can "focus" on Meat Chicken. Of course, he is not done yet. He then tries to get out of his contract with WVU which stipulated that he would lose money if he broke his contract ahead of time, which he did. He then goes to Meat Chicken and rubs the players the wrong way by ignoring or belittling many of the traditions up there. The fall out was that many of his players left, in fact, some came to play for my Buckeyes. You also saw some of the fall out this year from accusations from some of his players that he broke the rules and held practices for too long. Then, to add insult to injury he turns Meat Chicken into a bannana republic as they have not been to a bowl in two years for the first time since the 1960's.

Texas!!!!!! Pasadena bound after last night's scare. W#hat a game that was!!!! A&M will be scary next year if they concntrate recruiting on the D side of the ball and plug in a couple of decent tackles on offense. What is Texas gets its butt kicked by Nebraska? Then TCU Pasadena bound after Bama trounces Fl in the SEC CG! Either way my great state sits pretty!!!!!!

First, Will Muschamp got embarrassed last week. That is rare. His ethic will not allow it to happen again. Nebraska's offense will be throtteld.
Second, Colt McCoy is the best player in the nation, IMO. He is better than Tebow. Period. Toby Gerhart is his closest competition for the Heisman, IMO. Colt has the will and the determination to get the Horns to Pasadena. Nebraska's defense is good, but Texas is better.

Originally posted by shortcircuitGreat observations on Muschamp! Texas is better than they get credit for indeed! I was hoping, against all hope for Bama and FL to both fall and Texas and TCU end up in the NCG! Alas not to be! I feel it is going to be Bama Vs TX!

Originally posted by SmookiePUnderrated and FL and Bama overrated. Quite simple. Latter two stink it up and get called brilliant pulling off a win with ref help whereas Texas pulls it off against perennially tough rival A&M by hanging tough and bending but not breaking and they get pilloried, tarred and feathered. Colt McCoy gets almost 500 yards of offense, 175 on the ground and you think they're overrated? The defenseive let down was not unexpected against an offense with matchup problems and a mobile QB. TX's offense will keep it in the game with anyone! D just good enough for task!

Originally posted by SmookiePSmooks, in rivalry games, throw records out the window, especially if only one team has something to play for. In the case of Texas A&M, they will not be going to a bowl game, so playing Texas on national tv was their bowl game. They played better than they normally would, and Texas probably took them too lightly.

The same is true of all rival games.
