Originally posted by EladarYou seem to forget Bama was the underdog yesterday. Games have to be played regardless. Horns may lose in the end, but mark my words, they are no patsy. Ask the 13 losing teams they played. Bama has to be on their game to win and they are hot and cold. Shoulda lost to Auburn, Tennessee. TX's win last night was a defensive thriller. Nothing wrong with that! Luck? Rather be lucky than good! OU was neither!
OK
Just for kicks, what if Texas loses to Alabama as any unbiased person who watched both games yesterday would believe.
Would the Whorns be like O who?
(Sigh) We'll never know how this year's undefeated TCU and Boise State would do against a BCS conference powerhouse in a BCS bowl; they've been paired against each other in the Fiesta. What a letdown.
EDIT: Iowa v. Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl; be still my beating heart. I presume that means the Sugar Bowl will be a Florida-Cincinnati matchup - that will be interesting.
Originally posted by EladarNope because no matter whether Texas wins or loses, O Who still lost to Texas, lost more games than Texas and most of all, O Who still sucks.
Texas played a very weak out of conference schedule and the Big 12 was way down this year.
They almost lost to a team that was defeated by Iowa State at home.
Going back to my question,
Will Texas be like OU if they lose their bowl game?
Texas wasn't that impressive yesterday. But what's very funny is that no one is now
mentioning 'Bama's 12-10 victory against unranked Tennessee. Point is, none of
the undefeated teams "breezed" through their seasons. Even TCU had a couple close
games (14-10 vs Clemson; 20-17 vs Air Force) and Cincy had 4 games within a
touchdown and Boise State, with the weakest schedule of the undefeated, had to hang
on against Tulsa 28-21. With the current system, I think 'Bama vs. Texas is the correct
matchup for this year's championship.
But PLEASE, PLEASE fix it somehow so that there is never more than one undefeated
team left standing at year's end. Please, can someone do that for me??
Originally posted by Traveling AgainIndeed true. Something has to be fixed so we can have at least a semblance of a mini playoff where the top eight teams play each other. Once this is done then everyone else can have their bowls.

I think FL lost because of those ghastly uniforms! Yikes they were ugly indeed. That big F on the helmet made Bama wanna kick their asses all the way straaight to Gainesville and they did!
Does anyone like pairing Boise St. and TCU in the same bowl? I would have loved to see both these teams play big conf teams like in 06. BCS spared themselves embarrassment? FL-Cinic is the only interesting game outside the NCG!

St Thomas Aquinas High School, in Ft Lauderdale, is number 1 in the nation. The talent in South Florida is sick with football. The media here is at a frenzy, and it's kind of terrrible how the young recruits get exploited.
FSU has an awesome freshman class coming up.

OU did suck this year.
That doesn't mean that Texas is all that great. We'll see if Texas loses its BCS game this year after winning the Big XII championship. If they do, then they will be a lot like OU.
You remember that the only reason the state of Texas doesn't float off into the Gulf of Mexico is because Oklahoma sucks!!!!
I'd rather be dead than red!!
OU, the best players money can buy.
Originally posted by SmookiePWell, there are more Texas high school players in the national spotlight now than Florida players. In the QB ranks alone among the top teams you have Andrew Luck at Stanford, Colt McCoy at Texas, Andy Dalton at TCU.

I believe that if you research it, Texas has become a hotbed of football recruitment on par with California, and followed closely by Florida.
