I love the sound of those vulsuvial trumpet things - they are the signature of this world cup.
I love the images from Soweto of all the people in the streets getting into the atmosphere.
I love the whole thing, it's brilliant and I really hope one of the African teams get through to the final stages.
I hate the Germans though...
Oh and the cheese eating surrender monkeys...

Does anyone have opinions on how well the official Adidas Jabulani ball is working so far?
So far I've noticed that when kicked with power the ball just keeps on going like there's no gravity. There've been many way over the top shots at goal. I think this is going to be a problem with long range free kick shots and specialists like Lampard and Ronaldo aren't going to get goals from these sorts of attempts.
In the France - Uruguay game, Henry tried to get around this factor but he couldn't put any power behind the ball and it was awful.
On the bright side, Messi seems to have to hang of the huge lateral swerve, as shown by his excellent strike that was saved by the Nigerian keeper.

What I do find strange is why we are talking about the ball at all - why are we using a new ball in the first place - why don't FIFA stick to whatever ball is used internationally for the last four years?
Oh yes I remember now - SPONSORSHIP!! And the need to create drama on the pitch through errors etc.

I still dont see who's going to give Australia their "midfield spark" , unless Cahill has a blinder of a game- which he occasionally doesπ
