@shavixmir saidI think the argument is that the rule was put in place by racist people to purposely punish people of color.
Yeah… but was that due to racism that she’s not allowed to use drugs? Or because it’s the bloody rules?
@shavixmir saidThat means the the rule was put in place by racist people hoping to punish people of color?
It’s not like smoking marihuana is going to make you sprint faster…

@earl-of-trumps saidExcept as I already showed, she didn't. Your sources are mischaracterizing her statements and like a good puppet you are simply repeating their incorrect claims.
A few posts ago you said that I was full of s**t because AOC never said the statements I accused her of.
Here is yet ANOTHER quote of what AOC said.
[i]Democrat Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted the decision to ban Richardson, calling it “racist and colonial."
"The criminalization and banning of cannabis is an instrument of [b]racist and colonial polic ...[text shortened]... article, it is refreshing to see Joe Biden take the right approach on the matter, "rules are rules".
And you are either deliberately lying or functionally illiterate when you say I ever claimed AOC didn't make the statement.
@eladar saidNo, it doesn't. It means the roots of the rule were in the criminalization of Marijuana, which was based on racist attitudes.
That means the the rule was put in place by racist people hoping to punish people of color?
Sometimes rules continue for no good reason based on simple inertia. This seems the case with this rule which now serves no rational purpose.
@no1marauder saidCrack, perhaps. But dope? As you said before, usage of dope is roughly equal amongst blacks and whites. If blacks are arrested more it's no doubt because blacks are more likely to be searched for drugs due a variety of reasons, some of which may have racist overtones and some of which have nothing to do with race.

While I completely agree that dope should be legal and this Olympic rule is borderline insane and should not be enforced, bringing race into it muddies that waters and weakens the argument.
You made the best argument yourself: ruining someone's career of the use of a legal recreational drug based on some anachronistic rule is a sucky thing to do. Race really has nothing to do with it; and bringing race into is pointless and counterproductive.

it is not legal
@mott-the-hoople saidMay I ask if you are a liberal over-regulator?

it is not legal
@kevin-eleven saidLOL...I simply corrected bad information. I dont care what is legal or illegal as long as it doesn't adversely affect me
Looking forward to your answer. 😉
