@no1marauder saidI couldn’t care less what WADA says.
Except, if you had bothered to read the links I provided, including AOC's letter, you'd know the organization's own experts have concluded it is not "performance enhancing". From p. 1 of this thread:
" However, according to WADA’s own medical director, Alan Vernec, “[t]here is no evidence for cannabis use as a performance-enhancing drug.”6 WADA appeared to ackno ...[text shortened]... alizing based on outdated stereotypes, the same ones which led to marijuana laws in the first place.
THC (the active compound in cannibis) binds with pain receptors.
Ergo, it relieves pain and in so doing relieves stress (stress and pain both being regulated in the same part of the brain).
Now, if pain and stress relief aren’t performance enhancing, the whole question is a joke.

@kevin-eleven saidYes, it is.
Too bad it wasn't repealed before the current cycle.
That's no reason not to repeal it now.
@shavixmir saidSo does ibuprofen; is that banned?

Jesus, you're being ridiculous; you're coming up with rationales for an agency's rules that they don't even believe in.

If not, why ban one sort of performance enhancing drug and not another?
It is then a joke. Let the sporty people use what they want.
Presumably though, marijuana is banned because it’s illegal in many countries and Ibuprofen isn’t. So it would be an unfair advantage to sporters from various countries.
@shavixmir saidThanks for confirming AOC's point. The rule is rooted in laws criminalizing marijuana and those laws have a racist basis.

Anything further?
