That makes as much sense as me claiming Iceland defeated the US because Bush won't be your president for long.

Once again, you simply miss the point. I didn't say that the Bush got him. I said We got him. The America... the US outflanked Castro with our powerful democracy. When a specific American president dies or resigns America replaces him/her, and America keeps goin' strong. But when Castro resigns, that's it. No more Castro.
Even when he is replaced by ...[text shortened]... in trying to belittle our victory. We've waited a long time, and worked very hard, for this.

is it any wonder that Cuba is "kinda poor"? might have something to do with a certain economic blockade. Cuba would do much better if they could do some business with their neighbour. but then again, that might show other countries that alternative economic systems might actually work.
and about the "letting the USSR park missiles there" thing: I always wondered why the US got so pissed of when the Soviets did exactly the same thing the US did (parking missiles in their neighbourhood) double standards?
