@divegeester saidSee, your friend is much smarter than you. He or she obviously doesn’t swallow the Telegraph’s idiocy like you do. But relies on facts and figures.
Well that’s good to hear; my friend thought you had your head up your ass for a moment there.

@vivify saidSeems to me that houses of worship should be made of less combustible materials.
Rioters tried to burn down a mosque, following misinformation. The stabbing suspect comes from a very religious and Christian family:

Let's see if these same rioters now try to burn down churches.
@shavixmir saidWhich newspapers would you recommend I read so that I can become more indoctrinated to your way of thinking?

@divegeester saidStats from the UK government. Police reports.

Information from the central bureau of statistics (I don't know what the English equivellent is, probably the home office or something.
That's where you find information like: 82% of people in England and Wales are white. And Arabs fall under the category "Other".
It's not rocket science. It's look up the information instead of swalling what's shoved down your throat.
@shavixmir saidBut I don’t swallow anything which is pushed down my throat and I don’t read the Telegraph (due to its paywall), The Mail or any other paper regularly. I do read the Guardian and economic publications. I also look at government statistics on immigration, crime and demographics. I also look at polling reports to gauge wider opinion. I use a pseudonym to join left and right wing groups on Facebook to understand differing points of view and I listen to friends of all political persuasions from all over the world via WhatsApp chat groups.

And yet I still disagree with much of your perspectives on the role of the EU, local and global immigration and social cohesion strategies.
@divegeester saidIt's perfectly fine to disagree with me.

However, the statistics don't lie.
There is no major crime rise due to migration.
White kids being a minority in classrooms isn't a thing (with a few exceptions in inner-city schools).
The amount of "foreigners" in Britain (and most of Europe) isn't more than 18%.
Etc.
There is a lot of fear mongering.
@shavixmir saidCrime in the UK isn’t measured, or at least not reported, by immigration and is certainly not calibrated by immigration over time.

@shavixmir saidPerhaps some people are concerned that they might get their throats slashed as suggested by Ricky Jones the Labour councillor who took to the street with a megaphone to declare it and was roundly cheered and applauded. But despite my invitations to discuss this no one seems to want to.

Strange that, isn’t it.
@divegeester saidEmotions are based on reality. They are based on a perceived reality.

@shavixmir saidYou really are biased. Immigration and crime in Europe are positively correlated and the figures show this clearly. Stop trying to justify these African, Middle Eastern, Islamic criminals. They should be deported immediately or shot dead if caught in the act.
Look at the figures then.
Violent crime is becoming common in Sweden, shocking residents of the famously placid Scandinavian nation, where horrific acts of violence have become “all too familiar,” according to Common Sense Media, part of a Swedish nonprofit organization.
Since 2018, Swedish authorities have recorded an estimated 500 bombings, while what they describe as gang shootings have become increasingly common. The country reported a record 124 homicides in 2020 and many residents were shocked in April when violent riots injured more than 100 police officers.
But Sweden’s crime spike is not an anomaly in Europe, as homicides have risen during the last decade across the European Union, from Hungary and Germany to Denmark and Finland. An analysis of EU and United Nations crime data by RealClearInvestigations shows that, as in Sweden, the broader crime wave is strongly correlated with immigration.

@divegeester saidWhat these apologist for immigration do is rearrange and manipulate the figures, in order to show that it is not immigration that is the cause of the increased crime but POVERTY. Immigrants are poor, and it is the fault of the government / society. If they were not poor they wont commit crime, is their argument.
