There is no correlation between crime rates and migration in the US. No matter what trump says.
I have seen 0 proof that it’s any different in the UK

The first sentence: how do schools compare to the 1970’s.
First of all, the photo shown is obviously early 60’s, perhaps late 50’s.
And second of all, they don’t compare. Society has changed and schooling changes with society.
@shavixmir saidOn the contrary, migrants tend to be very productive. They tend to work, once they are allowed to, and they pay into the social services system for many decades before they start to cash in their own pensions, thereby supporting a system they did not have an opportunity to vote for.

The claim that migrants are bad for America is simply false. It is scaremongering, plain and simple.
Some facts:
quote
From 2007 to 2022, the U.S. labor force grew but the unauthorized immigrant workforce did not.
In 2022, over 30 million immigrants were in the U.S. workforce. Lawful immigrants made up the majority of the immigrant workforce, at 22.2 million. An additional 8.3 million immigrant workers are unauthorized. This is a notable increase over 2019 but about the same as in 2007.
The share of workers who are immigrants increased slightly from 17% in 2007 to 18% in 2022. By contrast, the share of immigrant workers who are unauthorized declined from a peak of 5.4% in 2007 to 4.8% in 2022. Immigrants and their children are projected to add about 18 million people of working age between 2015 and 2035. This would offset an expected decline in the working-age population from retiring Baby Boomers.

@shavixmir saidSo you didn't notice the schools are now a sea of brown and black faces and white children are now a small, even tiny minority in them?

So you didn't notice the schools are now sea of brown and black faces and white children are now a small, even tiny minority in them?
Some are. Obviously.
Many aren’t.
From the 2021 census:
Government data about the UK's different ethnic groups. 82% of people in England and Wales are white, and 18% belong to a black, Asian, mixed or other ethnic group (2021 Census data).
So, roughly 5 coloured kids per class of 25.
See? You’re swallowing that fascist propaganda, hook, line and sinker.

@yo-its-me saidThe pro/anti-immigration sides.
You've got a broad view of the situation.
What do you see as the two sides?
You can see what Shavixmir and I are saying about the media/Tommy Robinson using the disparity to their own agenda can't you?
I didn't see what was said about Tommy Robinson but based on the context I'm guessing he's a Nigel Farage kind of person. Correct? If so, I agree that men like him use troubled economies as excuses for bigotry.
@vivify saidI'd say he was more blatant than Nigel Farage.

@shavixmir saidThe U.S. is the 3rd most populated nation in the world. Migrants will not significantly affect crime "rates" even if directly responsible for spikes in crime.

Most migrants are just people looking for a better life. But we're not discussing migration in general, we're specifically talking about migrants fleeing a crisis; Syrian refugees, displaced Ukrainians, etc.
You invoke "Trump" as if it's wrong to merely acknowledge imperiled people naturally bring problems with them. You can still have compassion for refugees while being real about the situations they potentially present.
@vivify saidTommy Robinson never (not that I’ve heard him do) talks about economics nor uses it as a debating tool.
