I don't know why, but I get the distinct impression STANG doesn't like the USA. 😛
Have a read of my profile.
And, as I said before (though I get accused of repeating myself), my underlying question is "Why are Americans so blindly patriotic when one considers issues in my opening post, as well as the deaths of up to 100,000 people in Iraq".

You've really proved your vitriolic anti-americanism. Sheesh! Doesn't your own country have enough problems of its own? Clean up your own backyard before you go on a hate rampage against filth in the neighborhood.
My own "backyard" includes train stations that no longer have rubbish bins since America raised the threat of terrorism.

He should be subject to a thorough, independent and powerful investigation with a view to having him impeached.

Rwanda, Shrebinica (sp) and the 1st gulf war are all examples of where half measures lead to chronic problems.

Two countries built on the protestant work ethic, if try hard you can achieve. Both have liberal costal cities and red neck right wing centres.
Having visited both I would say that Australia is more relaxed, but is higher taxed. Ultimately Australia is probably more free because America is constrained by legally and morally by religion.
