Lets see.....the most opportunity to succeed, the most freedom, the best economy, the most diversity, not enough?

America is full of wonderful people, there are many superb innovations that have eminated from the US. America is the dominant country economically and politically but not the greatest.
Personally I feel most of America culturally lazy, many americans have a poor diet and politically it is insensitive to the wider world.
While I agree it is difficult to compare countries. New Zealand, Sweden and France offer a better quality of life for all of their population when compared with the US of A.

Our UK unemployment is similar to the US. But actually anyone who wants to work here can - it does not matter where they are from or their qualifications.
America is still the land of opportunity, however there are moreopportunities in the rest of the world these days too.

a. usa will spend over 368 billion in poverty entitlements in 2006, is that not enough? Some people will not educate themselves no matter what and you can’t make them. Some people will remain addicts no matter what, there will always be the poor, but in America ANYONE who wants to make a living can, and 368 billion in poverty entitlements is more than enough. Socialism, which you seem to favor, does not work and kills an economy. Capitalism is what makes our country/economy strong.
b. A free health care system..?..? Are you kidding, that could never ever, ever be paid for in a country as big as America, at least not without taxing our population to DEATH. And why should my tax dollars go to pay for health care for some drug addict. Again, we have an enormous entitlement spending that takes care of those truly disadvantaged or mentally handicapped. But I'm not responsible for those who do not help or take care of themselves. Again people come to America all the time with nothing and make a great living doing several things.
c. We detain terror suspects without charge. SO WHAT? These people are beheading and killing innocent people. They target civilians, and they should be held and interrogated to help SAVE lives all over the world. These people you are defending were picked up on the battlefield, not fighting for a country or in military uniform, fighting with terrorist. Do you think the USA is picking up innocent cafe owners in the deserts of Afghanistan? These terrorist are not given Geneva protections because they are Illegal Combatants, not pow's, the represent no country and wear no uniform, etc. They should be held as long as it takes, and the ones we have released ended up on the battlefield killing soldiers again.
d. our 2 parties could not be more different and to say they both follow a similar christian agenda shows you have no idea what you are talking about. I find a lot of people's beliefs about American on here are grossly misinformed. We have a culture war going on in American between the left/far left who wants a secular progressive society and the right who wants to remain traditional. The left wants all mention God out of Christmas celebrations, want god of our coins, they want to legalize gay marriage, want to legalize abortion at any term, want to remove the phrase "under God" from our pledge of allegiance, etc. I would hardly call that a right wing Christian agenda, so you are simply wrong with that statement.
Lastly, I'm not sure I see the immigration to the countries you mentioned like I do to the U.S. I don’t see people dying trying to get to Sweden and France (the most useless country on Earth). These countries do not fight to protect what they have because what they have is not substantial. Likewise people do not flock to these places like they do to America, so I can hardly see how these places offer a greater quality of life. There is a reason people choose to come here.
