I believe that Australia has more liberty than America.

But then I'm not stuck up on it like you appear to be.

We're not "forced" to vote as you blokes are....we can tell politicians to kiss our asses and EARN our vote....instead of pushing a ballet button just to satisfy a gov't requirement....that's subtle coersion to me....so your belief in having more liberty than the US is null and void in that regard...and i'm not "stuck up on liberty and freedom"....I take it for granted and serve to protect it.....

Amazing that you can tell any politician to 'kiss our asses and EARN our vote' and yet so many of you voted for Bush!

He has quadrupled your national debt, brought in a series of tax cuts that benefited the average american by $100 a year, but the average cabinet minister by $800,000 a year.

What a way to show he cares!

He is an appalling example of your brilliant, brilliant country. You have given so much to the world, far too much to possibly be mentioned in one website let alone one thread, yet for some reason you have voted in this semi-literate cowboy who only doesn't class as evil because he isn't smart enough!

America, you are an astonishing nation, and the most powerful country on earth. You have landed men on the moon, are responsible for the most sophisticated and universal communications device ever known, have produced writers who have seared their way across my soul with the empathy and purity of their literature. Your very constitution and declaration of independance stands as a message of hope (ignoring the fact that slaves didn't count as whole men) for the whole world. When you back an economy or nation or new technology, the world listens. Why are you selling yourselves so short like this?

You deserve more. So do we, from the leading nation on our planet.

Of course it wasn't about China. But you didn't have any problem bringing in numerous other countries that it wasn't about either. So will you please come clean and tell us why you purposely left out China?

With power comes responsibility.

America could demonstrate this to upcoming super powers like China.

Instead, America meddles with other countries (going so far as to invade one based on lies), promotes violence as if it were a solution and trashes the environment.

America is currently a greater threat to the security of the world than China.

Interesting. So Australia who we all know of course never sent

What a sacrifice you make, no rubbish bins. Wow. Kind of makes
9-11 look like a picnic.

You had no valid reply to my post, so you bring up guns? Guns have been a part of America from day one. Our Constitution guarantees one the right to bear arms; we don't "need" guns, well, let me rephrase that: some people need guns for self defense due to the pitiful judiciary system we have in this country, the decline of family moral values which leads to a generation of thugs in some cities that won't hesitate to kill. Australia will see this pandemic of crime someday, as will the entire world. I personally don't feel the need for a gun, and I live in San Diego, CA., which has 3,000,000+ metro-wise. But I cherish the right to be able to obtain a gunh if I ever feel threatened.....

Very well put, and I agree with you....but you are wrong on one point: I, personally, didn't vote for Bush...I don't think he is a good leader...for that matter all politicians in America are interested in one thing and one thing only: Their reelection...even at the cost of America's security

I didn't set out to compare America to China.

I set out to show that I could see no reason for blind patriotism in America, nor to regard America as a member of some "Axis Of Good", nor to believe that Bush is capable of steering America out of it's mess and that, in fact, he compounds the mess.
