Last night I lay in bed with writer's insomnia, working on a story idea that had gripped my head, but also trying to catch a little shuteye, when I heard several strums on one of my guitars.

It turned out to be just a large insect on the strings, but it was still a little spooky.

Unexpectedly I spent part of the evening and most of the night writing notes for a story, and I have just completed a first draft. Needs some trimming and distillation, but it's good to get it out of my system.

It was not a beetle, but I was trying to be considerate of delicate sensibilities.

Meanwhile I was able to trim about 250 words without too much harm.

I should probably leave this one alone for a while now. At least I have something to present.
