If the Site's Policy on Cheating worked then small fry like No1 wouldn't be allowed to happen. If he wants to report his analysis to the Game Mods then fair play to him.
Marauder has mentioned before that he already presented his "case" to the mods ... he wasn't happy about the time it took them to analyze it.
The bottom line is th ...[text shortened]... ated a stink.
This is complete and utter bull menure ... take some anti paranoia pills!!!
ASSUMING that IM and co *were* given a chance to defend themselves - at least, privately, to the game mods - i think the process has been unusual but reasonably fair given the circumstances. clearly if these issues were decided on one members' analyses alone (and i don't pretend to really understand them) that would be ridiculous. but the fact that the game mods have concurred with no1's allegations and analyses suggests to me that no1 deserves a big thank you for all of his hard (and time-consuming) work.

Originally posted by ExyThe Game Mods rely on people coming forward with evidence of cheating; that is what I and others did. If you want to say the accused should be informed up front, I agree but the rest of your rant is just ironic given the position you've been screeching for the last two weeks.

I'm sorry but this stinks. I have always agreed that there is some level of Engine use problem at this site but the only way to deal with it is to expose the people who are guilty - but to do that you have to have a fair tribunal system that allows those who come under suspicion to defend themselves - No1marauder, you proposed this basic right too!
Put an OFFICIAL system in place - an "ALERT GAME" button, a GAME MODS page, with all the details as to how to report suspected games, proven cheats backed up by EVIDENCE in layman's terms, that's all we want, it's fair, it's just, it's common sense!?! 😲

I have a problem with:
"beyond a reasonable doubt" according to the Site Admins
not because I don't believe in the people or their integrity, but because the evidence is not being placed in a public forum, and made understandable to us patzers. For a banning, this has to be only reasonable - as is that my view that the accused is given a cha ...[text shortened]... p with an engine alone is not sufficient to convince me, and I suspect many others on this site.
Oddly enough when I played him, Ironman31 was the one who actually challenged me to a game. This was after seeing a couple of games that I had posted up in one of the threads of the chess forum, which were won with an unusal opening. He wanted to play this opening. Eventually we played 3 games using this opening, and it became more like a training session, with me trying varations. We chatted a little during each game and I found him to be very pleasant. When you consider the fact that my rating was so much lower than his, he would have barely gained any ratings points from playing me, in fact if I remember correctly, I lost one point in our last game & his rating stayed the same. Hardly the actions of a cheater in my opinion.
Therefore I too would like to know more of the evidence specifically with regards to the following questions...
1) exactly what percentage did he match fritz.
2) what was the basis's for matching fritzs moves were (as in are we talking about just matching the best move, or the best 3 or the best 10 etc).
3) what percentage of his total games were checked.
4) what was the selection criterior used for the games choosen.
