Well, there you go.
I’ve have always agreed with that it should be means tested; what I dispute is your claim that it HAS been means tested; its hasn’t, nor has there been an impact assessment. Two things you seem to be either oblivious to or ignorant of.

But I acknowledged your approval of this government’s poorly thought through decision to arbitrarily remove the winter fuel allowance from ALL pensioners who don’t already receive some benefit irrespective of whatever hardship they are facing.

Divegeester was proposing an attack on pensioners.

I disagree with this.
I proposed an attack on pensioners … what on earth are you talking about.

I was unaware you had your sense of humour surgically removed.

Sorry I didn't send grapes.

I've provided you with the list of means tested benefits (such as pension credit) that make a person eligible for the winter fuel payment.

Join the dots.

Edit: Mr X and Mr Y both would like to receive the winter fuel payment. Both apply for pension credit (a means tested benefit). Mr X is on low income and as a result is awarded pension credit, while Mr Y is on a higher income and is not awarded pension credit. Only Mr X will now receive the winter fuel payment (due to having been means tested, by being eligible for pension credit).

I don’t find this topic about pensioners potentially dying due to this policy, humorous.

Your frivolity and disingenuousness notwithstanding.

The policy has not been means tested as you have claimed. Neither has it been scrutinised by an impact assessment.

Your list of benefits is moot, it’s just a list.

I acknowledge that you support this arbitary attack on pensioners as it is being stated as being by left wing media channels, one of which I’ve given you and which you ignored.

Are you going to try some more humour to deflect?

No idea why you are not getting it. The winter fuel payment 'is' means tested by way of eligibility being determined by means tested benefits (such as pension credit).

But here, have a yoyo.

No, that is not means testing, it is an arbitrary application of existing benefits. As Drewnogal pointed out to you millions of pensioners do not even know what they entitled to let alone how to apply so they will slip though the net.

As I’ve told you the risk of winter death of the vulnerable through cold is really high and an impact assessment has not been carried out. But you carry on. I thought you were more compassionate tbh.

Are you going to start making some more jokes or offering me biscuits again?

I understand you don't understand the benefits system. Let's leave it at that and avoid your further embarrassment.

Both the Tories and Labour governments have failed in doing enough to ensure pensioners get the benefits they are entitled to. No argument from me there. Both Tory and labour politicians have made half assed attempts to signpost pensioners to pension credit, but there has been no organised campaign to ensure this happens. (Something like 850,000 eligible pensioners are currently missing out). Obviously the reason for this is that it will cost them millions.

I think you're more interested in sticking it to the Labour party.
