I think you're more interested in sticking it to the Labour party.

Being in favour of means tested fuel payments has nothing to do with sticking up for the labour party. (Who I have never voted for). You alone have politicised the issue.

The shame is all yours. Money should go to where it is needed most. (Pensioners in genuine hardship and other struggling groups).

Divegeester was proposing an attack on pensioners.

I disagree with this.
I would be in disagreement also, as I am of that age now. Also in a Different Country.

It hasn’t been means tested, nor has there been an impact assessment.

Many sources, including the AGEUK site which I linked you and which you won’t have bothered looking at, estimate at least 2.5 million pensioners will be at risk this winter.

Yes Labour supporter, the shame is on you.

You are in disagreement with the UK government scrapping the winter fuel payment?

No idea why you are not getting it. The winter fuel payment 'is' means tested by way of eligibility being determined by means tested benefits (such as pension credit).

It isn't scrapping the winter fuel payment. It has become means tested like almost every other benefit.

No idea why you aren’t getting it, that is an arbitrary application of a list of existing benefits. It is NOT means feasting of the millions of pensioner who really need the winter fuel payment but do not already claim another benefit. It’s arbitrary , it’s lazy, it’s inefficient and it’s dangerous.

Question @ghost-of-a-duke

As an NHS employee yourself, was your income positively impacted by the recent round of public sector pay increases implemented by the Government?

Of the 12.6 million UK pensioners… how many will now be entitled to the winter fuel payment under your version this “means testing”?
