I've ran ten of Carlsen's latest games from chessgames.com using the usual criteria -
{ Top 1 Match: 240/438 ( 54.8% )
{ Top 2 Match: 321/438 ( 73.3% )
{ Top 3 Match: 370/438 ( 84.5% )
{ Top 4 Match: 409/438 ( 93.3% )
I'll get round to finishing them off soon(ish)

Yes, but "favourite games" collection is not the same as objective selection.
I can pick favourite games of Weyerstrass & find either blatant engine use or evidence that he may well not have used an engine 😉
They'll be telling us what to do before long!
Originally posted by RJHindsNo, Magnus Carlsen NEVER played against a computer in his entire life... Other little known facts are he doesn't know how to set up a chess board and his assistant do it for him and he farts vanilla extract scented gasses.
I still don't understand how you come up with the 4 moves. Could You explain
it and how far can you go with his? Anybody?
P.S. Do you know if Carlsen ever plays against the computer chess engine?
You numbskull.

I know Carlsen or any of the World's top chess player would never waste their
time to come and play against us flunkies, because there is no money in it.
It was just a hypothetical question.

Originally posted by PhlabibitWell I'm running Carlsen's 20 most recently completed games from chessgames.com which all have a minimum of 35 moves to see how his latest figures stack when the games are selected in the correct way.

The last analysis I was aware of was
{ Carlsen, Magnus (Games: 9) } Nanjing 2009
{ Top 1 Match: 200/335 ( 59.7% )
{ Top 2 Match: 256/335 ( 76.4% )
{ Top 3 Match: 283/335 ( 84.5% )
{ Top 4 Match: 298/335 ( 89.0% )
{ Carlsen, Magnus (Games: 9) } Morelia 2007
{ Top 1 Match: 186/325 ( 57.2% )
{ Top 2 Match: 245/325 ( 75.4% )
{ Top 3 Match: 279/325 ( 85.9% )
{ Top 4 Match: 293/325 ( 90.2% )
Which are objective (but rather small) tourney samples.
The match rates are exactly what I'd expect the world's best player to produce.
We shall see what happens with a batch of 20 most recent games...
