At first glance c5 looks swell

Is it just me or have we grabbed the ascendancy?

i think c5 is probably too risky. It will open up the position whereas Rd8 is probably a safer move with no risks.

However there might be reasons why c5 is better, so please share your ideas.

What do you think of Qd6, with the idea of Qd5 and exchanging queens?

21. ... Qd6 22. c5 Qd5 23. Qxd5 exd5 24. g4 seems to favour white.

If we play c5 then IM can either take or play d5.
If it's dxc5 then 22. ... Rxc5 23. Qa3 Qc7 24. Nd3 (not Qxa7?? or Ra5 traps it).
If it's d5 then I don't think we want to play exd5 so maybe Ra6.

Overall I prefer the safer Rd8.

I like Rd8 too (although c5 may be worth a look).

What about Qc7? Means that if the white Q moves the N may find itself pinned.

I like Rd8. Qc7 takes the queen off the a3-f8 diagnol, which we need control of for the time being.

It's time to stop pussyfooting around.

Black Prawn to c5.

Before IronMaiden's Prawn gets there.

I don't really like Kb8. It strenghtens whites knight and white could fairly easily manouver his queen onto the h2-b8 diagonal for the chance at the discovered check.

It would require a further tempo to play Ka8 and make the King safer than it is now. I don't think we'll get two tempi to run away and hide.

Well we should investigate all the possibilities before making a decision IMHO. After all the best move is not always the most aggressive one.

I don't think Kb8 really gains anything. As Ragnarok says we may just end up taking another move to a8 in a while. And when we reach the endgame the king needs to come back to the middle of the board.

Yes that move is provocative. It seems to create good opportunities for White at first glance but I could find nothing decissive (not that I have really looked at it closely). Anyway it is a possibility, which like any other, needs to be checked before it gets discarded.

I say Nd7, to provoke Nxf7.

Edit: the point was: 21. ...Nd7 22. Nxf7 Rf5! 23. Rxf5 exf5 24. Nd5 Nxd5 25. exd5 Qxd5.

It doesn't look good though, because 22. Qc3! Ra4/a6 23. Nxd7 Qxd7 24. d5! rips our position apart.

Correct. Enough of the namby-pamby moves.

It's time to get tough.
