You have to be aware of translational issues with some bibles, which can read differently. It doesn't hurt to reference more than one version.

The best known example that I know of is at Psalms 83:18. The King James renders it " That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." (Direct cut and past, capitals aren't mine)

If we quote from the New King James "That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth."

I have seen bibles where the divine name is stated as YHWH, which is the original rendering without vowels (Tetragrammaton).

The insertion of "The Lord" makes for quite a different understanding and could be considred confusing.

1 Cor 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ"

It's almost as if somebody is trying to deliberately confuse the issue?

If your God figure supposedly inspired and guided the writers of the Bible, why didn't He inspire and guide the translators too. It seems to be an odd oversight.
