@kellyjay saidJesus did not just differentiate himself from the father. He differentiated himself from God. The idea that he could step out and then back into the Godhead is a nonsense, that he would cry out to himself from the cross.
Yes, that is why Jesus became a man, He set aside His divinity to do absolutely everything required as a man. He was tempted, He even struggled with things sweating blood over taking on every sin man has ever done upon Himself, becoming sin, something else God doesn't and cannot do as God, but as a man, Jesus could. He took the full punishment for every single sin done by ma ...[text shortened]... ay to God, because it isn't us becoming good enough for God; it is God making us God enough for Him.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou can tell that that doctrine was very poorly thought out, and it really makes a joke of those who swallowed, such a doctrine.

@kellyjay saidMy moral compass causes me to reject the teaching that Billions will be supernaturally kept alive by a supposed loving version of Jesus and burnt in a lake of fire, by him, for eternity, apparently for not believing he loves them SO much that he died for them.
What biblical principles do you use that allow you to take some of Jesus' words to heart and ignore the rest? Do you feel comfortable saying if you don't like a passage, that is enough to ignore it because of your "moral compass?"
Where’s yours that the Bible is inerrant, all true, all accurate?

@ghost-of-a-duke saidOne Being, three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the Son took on humanity and went through everything He did for our salvation. God and the Father are one and the same, so crying out to God is no different than crying out to the Father. He wasn't crying out to Himself, which is why understanding the Trinity is essential.

Philippians 2:5-7
English Standard Version
Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
@kellyjay saidWhat a load of bull. Your doctrine is a confused mess of nonsense and stupidity

@rajk999 saidEven in your pitiful attempt to say who Jesus is saying as much, that God is His Father, and the Father is greater than the Son. The Son is the only begotten of the Father, while Adam was formed from the dust of the earth, and God breathed life into Him. While Jesus was begotten, He was born into this world as the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary.

@kellyjay saidDid you get the impression from the teachings of Christ that people need to understand that Jesus is God? IF so please quote the reference.

@divegeester saidThe notion of Biblical inerrancy is a distraction.

The behavior of others is a distraction.
What others might believe is a distraction.
Your judgment of others is a distraction.
The notion of a moral compass is a notion.
Finely honed analytical and verbal skills -- as much as you should indeed appreciate those talents and skills -- will not help you to Abide in Christ or follow His Way.
@divegeester saidYou keep saying that over and over, like a broken record.

Why don't you have some buttons and posters made up and run for political office on that platform?
@divegeester saidSo, what "bible" do you live by, Dive? "The One-Minute Manager"?
This assertion by you, is just an assertion.
Do you have any evidence whatsoever that everything in the bible is true and accurate?
@divegeester saidWhy do you even bother yourself with Christianity?

Set yourself free, and let others do as they do.
