it looked like he tried to back out of it, almost looked more like a slip than a bad tackle. it wasn't a red, maybe a yellow for being clumsy but nothing more imo. there will be worse tackles in the world cup that don't get a red.

Today you're in for a treat... If you like boring defensive football. Denmark will play a defensive 4-6-0 against Holland and thereby only lose by a few goals. Yesterday the Danish coach, Morten Olsen, answered that a good result would be a draw. Even in his dreams he doesn't think Denmark can win.

I don't think Denmark are that defensive really. They'll probably play on the counter. They are very quick and could pose a thread on the counter. If we can't score in the few first opportunities we may be in for a difficult game. Of course I expect them to win by at least 2 goals.

Denmark with no injuries is an okay team, but most of the offensive lineup is lacking match fitness or are injured.
No bias there. Denmark were extremely lucky. I actually stopped watching the first match in Portugal after the first halve. I couldn't bear to watch anymore. One decent Portuguese striker would have finished us easily. Imaging my surprise waking up and Denmark won the game. I still wonder how you managed to miss so many huge chances. Also Denmark was lucky in the Sweden matches too. Maybe we can be lucky again today. 🙂

I think it's working well. Every tournament is the same. New ball, everybody complains, new ball becomes a fixture and everybody is happy again.

We're going to see a lot more free kicks in dangerous areas played short. It's probably the worst in Johannesburg with the altitude factor, but I've seen uncharacteristically bad long balls since the start of the tournament.

I thought it was a very good game honestly. Not fantastic, but quite good. Denmark were good defensively and played dangerously on the counter, like I predicted. At the interval it was denmark who had been more dangerous, though the result was fair enough for both teams. 2nd half was opposite, but the Dutch played very well defensively and in the end I think we deserved to win.

Yes? This is why hoppy mentioned it. Balls FLY in Johannesburg. Good for golfers and rugby players going for posts from 55m out, less so for Dutch and Danish players used to playing practically under sea level.
